Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 18

Hello, my Pretties!

I'm running out of time to get you all 30 days of looks in before the clock strikes midnight.  I don't think I'm going to make it!

This is the Avon Totally Kissable Lip Gloss in Pink Plush.  This is so not a good color for me!  Haha.  It's way too light and frosty for my skin tone.  Not a good look on me at all.  But I always have to make things work for me.  So, what I did was use Avon's Luxury Lip Liner in Chocolate all over my lips and then I applied Pink Plush on top and a slight "ombre" look was the final product which I loved.  Too light for you lipsticks or lip glosses work well over dark lip products.  Don't toss it, make it work for you!

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 17

Hello, my Pretties!

Today I have another new product to share with you!  I love having new things.

This is the Avon Glow Blusher Bronzer Duo in Rose Glow.  Of course, this reminded me of the E.L.F. blush/bronzer duo.  Haha.  It's the only other blush/bronzer duo that I have.  I loved the Rose Blush in this one but as for the bronzer, it was too light, I think.  The Rose blush showed up well on my cheeks but I didn't really notice the bronzer at all.  One of my fellow Makeup Mavens used this as an eyeshadow duo.  Not a bad idea.

Click HERE to be directed to the Avon Glow Blusher Bronzer Duo page in my online Avon eStore.  Here you will see the 4 shades available in this duo.  Unfortunately, these are not on sale at the moment and retail for $10.00 for .42 oz. net wt. of product.

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 16

Hello, my Pretties!

Today I have a new product for you!  Yay!

Well, I guess the product isn't new.  This is a NEW shade in the existing Avon True Color Eyeshadow Duo line.  This is Luscious Orchid.  I am in love.  I promise you.  At first glance and in the brochure, this duo looks like a purple and brown.  I love wearing purple and brown together!  But once I applied it, it's more of a purple and gold.  Even better!  The purple applies more like a matte while the gold is more of a shimmer.  The two colors and finishes compliment each other perfectly.

This is one of two new duos Avon just released for summer as part of the Fiji Paradise collection.

Click HERE to go directly to the Avon True Color Eyeshadow Duo Fiji Paradise collection page in my online Avon eStore.  Regular price on these is $7.00 for .099 total oz. net wt. but right now you can buy them 50% off for ONLY $3.49!  Now you can get BOTH duos for the price of one!

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 15

Hello, my Pretties!

Woo hoo!  We are half way there!

This one is an oldie but goodie.  I have had this nail polish probably since last summer.  I think it is such a fun color for summer and I have been wearing it a lot lately.  It's a cross between orange and red.  This is Avon Nailwear Pro in Tangtastic.

Click HERE to be directed to the Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel page in my online Avon eStore.

There are 43 shades to choose from!  Wow!  Avon claims to give you 12 days of lasting color.  These retail for $6.00 for .4 fl. oz. of product.

I can say that this nail polish is great.  The coverage is awesome.  I did two coats of Tangtastic.  I didn't even have to use a top coat, the finish was so glossy!

I urge you to go browse all 43 shades!

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 14

Hello, my Pretties!

Let's see what's on the menu for today.

FINALLY!  Avon finally jumped on the BB Cream wagon and I couldn't be happier.  I had never used a BB Cream before until I bought this one.  I still haven't used another BB Cream so I don't have anything to compare this too but I'm really liking it.

The formula is thick.  Much thicker than I thought.  I thought it was going to be more like a tinted moisturizer.  It's thick like a foundation.  But a little goes such a very long way.  One small squeeze of the tube and you can cover your entire face.  Granted, I don't have that many blemishes on my face but after applying this, I saw a much more even tone to my skin.  My face looked smoother, even, and pores were diminished.

I guess my only complaint would be that it is not a matte finish.  Are BB Creams matte??  I don't know.  But I do know that this one is not.  This gives me the appearance of dewy skin, not greasy, but dewy.

There are only 5 shades to choose from and it retails for $10.00 for 1 fl. oz. of product.

Avon claims:
Lightweight coverage. 10-in-1 Beauty Balm:
- infused with Vitamin E
- infused with minerals and antioxidants
- hydrates skin
- evens skintone
- visibly minimizes redness

- conceals flaws
- lightweight feel
- smoothes skin
- SPF 15 protection
- skin looks better even after removing*

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 13

Hello, my Pretties!

Meet #13:

This is Avon's latest addition to their nail polish line.  But, I believe these are to be LIMITED EDITION.

This Avon Mega Watt Nail Enamel in Hot Pants and as soon as I saw the name, I had to have it.  I'm a sucker for cute names!  The color is really nice.  It's a cross between hot pink and neon pink.  It's great!  It does dry to a semi matte finish and I've been told that's the norm for neon polishes.  And y'all know I love my polishes glossy so I just added one coat of the Avon Speed Dry+ Nail Enamel on top of two coats of Hot Pants.

There are five of these neon shades to choose from and right now they are not on sale and retail for $6.00 for .4 fl. oz.  On a plus side, these nail polishes are formaldehyde, tolune, and DBP free.

Click HERE to go directly to the Avon Mega Watt Nail Enamel page in my Avon eStore.

I loved wearing this color.  It caught a lot of attention, even from my cahsier at Target!  I just wish I had gotten the other 4 shades.  But for me, $6.00 is pricey so I might wait for them to go on sale again.

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 12

Hello, my Pretties!

Are you enjoying this 30 Day Challenge marathon?  I hope so!

Let's keep going, OK?

Eeep!  Look at this blue!  It is incredible!  It is an aqua/teal mixture that is so, so very beautiful.  This is the Avon Mega Impact Eye Liner in Aqua Pop.  And pop it sure does!  It glides on like a dream.  It is rich in texture and pigmentation.  One swipe is all you need to get intense color application.  It almost looks metallic on the lid, doesn't it.

There are 8 of these beauties to choose from.  Right now you can purchase one for $6.00 for .042 oz. net wt.  Click HERE to be directed to the Mega Impact Eye Liner page in my Avon eStore.

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 11

Hello, my Pretties!

Are you ready for Day 11?  Here it is:

This is the Avon Mega Impact Eyeshadow in Punched Up Peach.  These Mega Impact Eyeshadow duos can be used wet or dry.  When I first applied these shadows, I applied them dry.  But I did not see that much pigmentation.  I figured, why not try them wet, then.  So I did.  No much difference.  The champagne shade was still very subtle but the peach shade did intensify even if every so slightly.

There are 8 shades of these duos to choose from.  Catch them on sale right now, 37% off!  Regular price is $8.00 for .155 oz. net wt. but you can grab them for only $4.99 right now.  Visit the Avon Mega Impact Eyeshadow page in my online Avon eStore by clicking HERE.

I hope that the pigmentation was a little lackluster only because these shadows are supposed to be light and subtle.  But there are some darker duos that I would love to try and see how they stand up to the wet/dry option.

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 10

Hello, my Pretties!

We are a 1/3 of the way there!  Day 10 is up next.

I cannot even begin to tell you just how much I love this color.  Oh my wow!  It is my favorite lip gloss to date!

This is the Avon Totally Kissable Lip Gloss in Mauve Kiss.  It is a ultra glossy crème lip gloss.  It is so moisturizing and it smells good too!  This color looks great on my skin tone but I know it will look great on everyone!  It's one of those like-your-natural-lip-color-but-better shades.

Visit my online Avon eStore at www.youravon.com/lmartinez2920 if you would like to purchase one.  Click HERE to go directly to the Totally Kissable Lip Gloss page in my eStore so that you can see all 15 available shades.  Currently the price is $7.00 for .24 fl. oz.

96% of women said that their lips felt softer and smoother instantly.  That many can't be wrong!

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 9

Hello, my Pretties!

Day 9 it is:

Meet the Avon Glimmersticks Eye Liner in Blue Flare.  This is a great blue shade of eye liner.  It is bright and creamy.  I like to use this eye liner when I don't have time to apply a full eye look.  Just this shade of blue alone is perfect for brightening up the eyes.  Fast and easy!

If you are interested in purchasing this eye liner, visit my online Avon eStore at www.youravon.com/lmartinez2920 or click HERE to be directed to the Glimmersticks Eye Liner page in my eStore.

There are 10 shades of Avon Glimmersticks Eye Liners to choose from.  But the best part is that right now they are on sale, 57% off, and are ONLY $2.99!  Regular price is $7.00.

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 8

Hello, my Pretties!

And now may I present you with Day 8: Avon Always on Point Eye Liner in Brown/Black.

This is a great eye liner for daytime.  It is dark enough to be noticeable but not as severe as wearing black.  I love brown eye liners but since I am a darker skin tone, a lot of brown eye liners aren't that noticeable on me.  This one is.

If you are interested in purchasing this specific eye liner, please visit my online Avon eStore at www.youravon.com/lmartinez2920 or click HERE to be directed to the Always on Point Eye Liner page in my Avon eStore.

The Avon Always on Point Eye Liner is available in 6 shades and sell for $8.00.

Avon claims:
Precise lines everytime!

The eye liner works great.  The pigmentation is rich.  While at first swatch, the liner tip did break off, the product is not overly soft.  But, it is not dry either.  It glides on easily and the staying power is beyond amazing.  It lasts all day.  ALL day.

The only thing that threw me off with this liner is the way you sharpen it.  I didn't know how!  It's not a twist-the-barrel-and-it-sharpens-on-it's-own eye liner like the original Glimmersticks Eye Liners.  I was so super confused as to how to go about sharpening it.  I had to ask my fellow Avon Makeup Mavens for help.  The answer, put the top on!  Every time you put the top back on, you twist it to close and THAT is what sharpens the tip for you.  So essentially, every time you go to wear this eye liner, you twist off the cap and your eye liner will be pointy.  Perfect!

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 7

Hello, my Pretties!

So...

I have ONE day to catch up on 23 posts...

Yup.

That's sounds about right.  You know me.  You knew this was going to happen.  I'm beyond flaky.

But I am glad to report that I did finish all 30 days.  If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter, you've seen all my looks up until Day 24 which is the last one I posted.

I've got so much to share with you so lets get on with the show, shall we?

Here is one of Avon's latest additions to the Glimmersticks Eye Liner family.  This one is Purple Haze and is part of the Glimmersticks Cosmic Eye Liner line.

Avon claims:
Provides a multi-dimensional glittery finish.

Right now you can purchase Purple Haze, or any of the other four Glimmersticks Cosmic Eye Liners, for 57% off!!  From regular brochure price of $7.00, you can now grab these up for ONLY $2.99!

Avon Glimmersticks Cosmic Eye Liners are .01 oz. net wt., come in five different shades, and are retractable and self-sharpening.

As for my experience with this specific shade, I find it to appear more metallic rather than glittery when on the actual eye lid.  In the swatch you can see tiny micro specs of glitter, though.  It is a pretty shade of purple.  Not too dark.  I did have to go over the line a couple of time to deepen up the color.  The application is smooth and does not tug.  The texture is creamy but not easily wiped off.

Overall, I like it.  I also have Blackened Night which is on the 30 Day Challenge as well.

If you would like to take advantage of the sale and purchase one before they are all gone, visit my Avon eStore at www.youravon.com/lmartinez2920 or just click HERE and be directed to the Avon Glimmersticks Cosmic Eye Liner page in my Avon eStore.

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 6

Hello, my Pretties!

It is now Day 6 and I have another eye product to share with you.  I believe this one has been discontinued but I still decided to share with you because I think it's a good product that I like to use often.  Besides, Avon has re-released discontinued products before.

Avon Glazewear Diamonds Eye Color in Mocha Flash

Avon's #1 selling lip gloss is the Glazewear line and for a short time, Avon released liquid eyeshadows under the Glazewear line!  They had done it a couple of years back, I think, because at that time, I bought a turquoise shade.  This time around, I decided on a more neutral tone.

The Glazewear Diamonds Eye Color packaging is exactly like the Glazewear Lip Gloss packaging.  The applicator is the same too.  So, in a way it feels like you are applying lip gloss to your eye lids.  Haha.

The liquid eyeshadow is very wet and applies like so.  I apply it directly onto my lid straight from the tube with the applicator but then I use my finger to blend it out.  I don't think you can get a great blend out using the applicator.  At least, I haven't been able to.  My finger works wonders in getting the shadow to blend out easily.

This shadow works great on it's own but it is also a wonderful eyeshadow base!

Like I said, this one is discontinued...for now.  Just keep your eyes out for it.  It might make a return!

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 5

Hello, my Pretties!

Time to play some catch up on my 30 Day Challenge!

Today I bring you Day 5 which showcases Avon's Super Shock Eye Liner in Velvet Plum.

Avon Super Shock Eye Liner in Velvet Plum
Product #: 341-330
Product Size: .141 oz. net wt.
Brochure Price: $7.00

There were four original shades released last year and I bought them all.  Velvet Plum, along with the only other shade I need, Shimmering Sapphire, are the latest shades to be introduced into the Super Shock Eye Liner line.

These are gel liners.  They are incredibly creamy and apply smoothly.  But...

But, for me, the color payoff is not what I would like it to be.  I swatched the gel liner above with a brush which gave me great pigmentation and then I swatched it using my finger.  In one photo, I used the gel liner as an actual eye liner over a taupe eyeshadow.  For me, the purple did not stand out as much as it did in the swatch.  In the other photo, I used the gel liner as an eyeshadow and applied it using my finger.  It provided me with a generous wash of purple.

To be completely honest, I did not appreciate these as actual liners all that much.  But...

But, as a cream eyeshadow or an eyeshadow base, these gel liners are awesome!

If I wear these as a cream shadow, all I do is apply an eye primer (I used Avon's Eyeshadow Primer in Warm Beige here.) and the gel liner will stay on as an eyeshadow all day!  No creasing.  No fading.  It's remarkable.  I love them as eyeshadows.  Of course when you blend it in using your finger, you lose more pigmentation but the wash of color is more than enough to create beautiful eyes.

These are very creamy, I warn you, so the more you blend them in or keep going over it with an eyeliner brush, you lose some product and pigmentation.  I suggest that if you want to build up the color, you apply then wait for it to set and then apply some more.  Applying layer after layer before it sets can cause your finger or brush to pick up product instead.

So, if you would like to purchase one of these from me, visit my Avon eStore at www.youravon.com/lmartinez2920 or click HERE to go directly to the Avon Super Shock Eye Liner page.

Stay tuned for Day 6!

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 4

Hello, my Pretties!

And I am back (so soon, I know) with my featured Avon product for Day 4.

Let's see, we've covered two Totally Kissable Lipsticks and a Speed Dry+ Nail Enamel.  Now, let's show off some eyeshadows!

Day 4 is all about Avon True Color Eyeshadow Duo in Hawaiian Glow*.

Avon True Color Eyeshadow Duo in Hawaiian Glow*
Product size: .099 total oz. net wt.
*DISCONTINUED

While this specific shade is now discontinued, I still shared with you because it really is a nice duo.  I wanted you to see the quality of the product.  The way it looks in the pan in comparison to the swatches over bare skin and the way it looks on the eyes.

These shadows are very soft and go on lightly but the color can be built up a little bit.  The texture is very smooth and they blend easily.

Even though this one is discontinued, there are still 10 other True Color Eyeshadow Duos to choose from and they retail for regular brochure price at $7.00.

I love to throw this on my eyes when I am at a loss for time because the duo goes so well together.  It takes the guessing out of trying to find colors that compliment each other.  The peachy pink and taupe shade are lovely and can be used for everyday go-to eyes and is perfect for work appropriate looks.

If you would like to take a look at the other 10 duos that are still for sale, visit my Avon eStore by clicking HERE.  And just so you have something to look forward to, I just ordered the Vivid Orchid duo so that should be coming in in about a week!

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 3

Hello, my Pretties!

I knew it was going to happen sooner or later but I have already fallen behind on my Avon Makeup Maven daily challenge.  Today is Day 6 and I am just now posting for Day 3!  Never fails.  I always screw up the daily challenge thingies.

You can bet I'm going to play catch up because I am adamant about completing all 30 days.

Day 1 and Day 2 were both lipsticks so today I have something different.  I have a nail polish...probably my most favorite nail polish shade that I have in my collection.

Avon Speed Dry+ Nail Enamel in Fast Time Teal.
Product # 624-067
Product size: .4 fl. oz.
Regular price: $6.00

Avon claims:
"New and improved formula with volcanic rock!  High shine formula dries in 30 seconds."

I am a huge lover of teal shades so when I saw this in the brochure, I had to have it and I'm so glad that I did make the purchase.  The "30 second" drying time wasn't so much of a must have for me as much as the color itself was.

As for the actual drying time, it takes longer than 30 seconds if you apply a thick coat.  If you apply it evenly and thin, the drying time is quite fast.  To achieve the results in the photo above, I did apply 2 coats of Fast Time Teal.  No base coat.  No top coat.  So, without a top coat, I can attest to this nail polish drying to a "high shine" finish.  I love my nail polishes glossy!

There are 26 shades of Avon Speed Dry+ Nail Enamels to choose from with the newest and 27th polish being Clear so you can use it alone or as a top coat to any nail polish.

These retail for $6.00 regular brochure price but they often come out on sale as well like 2 for $6.99.

If you are interested in purchasing this color or viewing any of the other Avon Speed Dry+ Nail Enamels, visit my Avon eStore by clicking HERE.

That completes Day 3.  Now on to Day 4.

Buy and Blog: L.A. Colors Color Craze Nail Polish

Hello, my Pretties!

Yesterday I walked into my local Dollar General for a gallon of milk on the way home and I, of course, took a stroll through their makeup aisle.  There was a lot of new products, I might add, but the one thing that really caught my eye was the display of L.A. Colors nail polishes.  There were so many colors to choose from and they were only $1!

I would have loved to pick up more but I hadn't gotten paid yet so I was pretty much broke, haha.  I did painstakingly choose 3 shades of the L.A. Colors Color Craze Nail Polishes.  I took a really long time to decided because I really wanted them all!

L.A. Colors Color Craze Nail Polish with Hardeners
0.44 fl. oz. (13 ml)
$1.00 each

Are these colors not wonderful, or what?  I don't know why but I have been in a neon colors phase lately.  It might be because it's summer!  Neon is everywhere these days.  I even purchased my first neon pink tank top just last week.

Even though these cost a dollar a piece, they are still really great nail polishes.  But they did take more than 1 or 2 coats.  I did 3 on the green and orange but after I took the photos, I thought the pink could have used a 3rd coat as well.

Another thing about my experience with the L.A. Colors Color Craze Nail Polishes is that they do not dry glossy.  I love my nail polishes to be glossy.  These dry more matte like.  Not completely matte but they do not dry to a "wet" like finish.  They do appear to have a glossy finish in the photos but that was my fault.  I applied a cuticle cream before taking the photos so my fingernails didn't look grotesque and didn't realize the flash would make me so "shiny"!

No matter what, I love these nail polishes!  I am so happy I bought them and I will make sure that I pick up some more of these as soon as I possibly can.

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 1

Hello, my Pretties!

I'm not even sure I shared the news with you all back around November/December.  I was not blogging at all really back then so I probably didn't even get to tell you guys what wonderful thing happened to me.

In case you didn't know, I am an Independent Avon Sales Representative and back in October of 2012, Avon had a contest for all reps to enter to become the next Makeup Maven. I won for my district which was so unexpected but very welcomed!

As my prize, I get quarterly makeup boxes with new or yet to be released Avon color products to share and get the public excited about Avon.  I have already received 2 boxes and have yet to share them with you guys.  I'm so beyond behind these days.

Any how, coming back to the present, my fellow Makeup Mavens and I are participating in a 30 Day Challenge where we create a look daily (30 looks for the 30 days of June) showcasing one featured Avon color product.  I will do my very best to create a look daily and share daily as well.  Life can get crazy and busy but I would love to be able to complete the challenge.

And here is Day 1:

Avon Totally Kissable Lipstick in Naughty and Nude
Product Number: 673-579
.106 oz. net wt.
$8.00

My featured Avon color product is the Totally Kissable Lipstick in Naughty and Nude.  Today was my very first time wearing this lipstick and I fell in total love with it.  I must admit, it really was love at first sight!

I don't really enjoy wearing nude lipsticks because they tend to wash me out.  I think it's because I am of darker skin tone but this shade of nude was perfect for me.

Aside from the color, the feel of this lipstick is amazing.  It is very light on the lips, almost like a gloss but not sticky or wet.  It glides on smoothly and does not tug at the delicate lip skin.  It wears almost like a balm to me.

AVON'S DESCRIPTION:
"Full coverage conditioning color infused with fruit enzymes and a blend of natural oils for lips that are visibly fuller, softer, and smoother."

FACE INGREDIENTS:

Face:
Avon Ideal Flawless BB Cream in Light/Medium
Avon True Color Blush in Classic Aurora

Eyes:
Avon Eyelid Primer in Warm Beige
Avon Eyeshadow Quad in Mirage
Avon Glimmersticks Chromes in Striking Emerald
Avon Super Drama Mascara in Black

Lips:
Avon Totally Kissable Lipstick in Naughty and Nude

If you would like to purchase this featured lipstick, visit my eStore at www.youravon.com/lmartinez2920 or just click HERE to go directly to the Totally Kissable Lipstick page in my Avon eStore.

I hope I will be back again tomorrow for Day 2...stay tuned!
