Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 25

Hello, my Pretties!

Today I am showcasing my favorite lipstick!  It was my very first Totally Kissable Lipstick and I just adore it!

This is the Avon Totally Kissable Lipstick in Mauve Allure.  You can tell I like it a lot because just look at the lipstick itself!  Haha.  I think this one goes so well with my skin tone.  Look at how glossy it is for a lipstick.  It's so creamy and moisturizing.  Smells good too!

Avon claims:
Full-coverage conditioning color infused with fruit enzymes and a blend of natural oils for lips that are visibly fuller, softer and smoother.

Right now these amazing lippies are 38% off!  Regular brochure price is $8.00 for .106 oz. net wt. of product but you can get it right now for $4.99!  There are 16 shades to choose from.

If you are interested, click HERE to be taken directly to the Totally Kissable Lipstick page in my online Avon eStore.

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 22

Hello, my Pretties!

Moving along...

That beauty up there is Avon's Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in Rich Ruby.

The Avon Ultra Color Rich Lipsticks have gotten a makeover as well.  The tubes have changed and are now squared with a clear window at the top so that you can see what color lipstick it is without opening the top.

The formula of this one is so creamy.  It feels amazing as it glides on your lips.  It is very rich and moisturizing.  The color pay off is phenomenal as well, as you can see.  It's a beautiful and classic red.  This is probably my favorite shade of red that I own right now.

There are 40 shades available to choose from and retail for $7.00 for .106 oz. net wt. of product.  You can purchase this shade today by clicking HERE but the UCR Lipsticks available for purchase right now are still in the classic round lipstick tubes, not in the new square tubes with the window up top.

♥♥ I am an Independent Avon Sales Representative.  Products mentioned in this post were sent to me for free as part of my prize package since being named one of Avon's Makeup Mavens for 2012-2013.  Thoughts expressed in this post are honest and my own. ♥♥

Avon Makeup Maven 30 Day Challenge for June: Day 1

Hello, my Pretties!

I'm not even sure I shared the news with you all back around November/December.  I was not blogging at all really back then so I probably didn't even get to tell you guys what wonderful thing happened to me.

In case you didn't know, I am an Independent Avon Sales Representative and back in October of 2012, Avon had a contest for all reps to enter to become the next Makeup Maven. I won for my district which was so unexpected but very welcomed!

As my prize, I get quarterly makeup boxes with new or yet to be released Avon color products to share and get the public excited about Avon.  I have already received 2 boxes and have yet to share them with you guys.  I'm so beyond behind these days.

Any how, coming back to the present, my fellow Makeup Mavens and I are participating in a 30 Day Challenge where we create a look daily (30 looks for the 30 days of June) showcasing one featured Avon color product.  I will do my very best to create a look daily and share daily as well.  Life can get crazy and busy but I would love to be able to complete the challenge.

And here is Day 1:

Avon Totally Kissable Lipstick in Naughty and Nude
Product Number: 673-579
.106 oz. net wt.
$8.00

My featured Avon color product is the Totally Kissable Lipstick in Naughty and Nude.  Today was my very first time wearing this lipstick and I fell in total love with it.  I must admit, it really was love at first sight!

I don't really enjoy wearing nude lipsticks because they tend to wash me out.  I think it's because I am of darker skin tone but this shade of nude was perfect for me.

Aside from the color, the feel of this lipstick is amazing.  It is very light on the lips, almost like a gloss but not sticky or wet.  It glides on smoothly and does not tug at the delicate lip skin.  It wears almost like a balm to me.

AVON'S DESCRIPTION:
"Full coverage conditioning color infused with fruit enzymes and a blend of natural oils for lips that are visibly fuller, softer, and smoother."

FACE INGREDIENTS:

Face:
Avon Ideal Flawless BB Cream in Light/Medium
Avon True Color Blush in Classic Aurora

Eyes:
Avon Eyelid Primer in Warm Beige
Avon Eyeshadow Quad in Mirage
Avon Glimmersticks Chromes in Striking Emerald
Avon Super Drama Mascara in Black

Lips:
Avon Totally Kissable Lipstick in Naughty and Nude

If you would like to purchase this featured lipstick, visit my eStore at www.youravon.com/lmartinez2920 or just click HERE to go directly to the Totally Kissable Lipstick page in my Avon eStore.

I hope I will be back again tomorrow for Day 2...stay tuned!

Review: L.A. Colors

Hello, my Pretties!

As promised, here is another L.A. Colors review I have to share with you!  I am so excited to have been given yet again another opportunity to try some new products!

And as always, let me clarify that these products were sent to me courtesy of L.A. Colors in exchange for an honest review on my blog.

Now let the fun begin!

This time I got sent three new products but I was able to pick out my own colors so that was an added bonus.  In this review, I will be covering two lip products and one nail product.  I think you will enjoy these just as much as I did.

Pictured above:

L.A. Colors Flash Pop! Dual Ended Nail Polish in Mad Duo.
L.A. Colors Jellie Gloss in Bloom.
L.A. Colors Lip Color in Pouty.

L.A. Colors Flash Pop! Dual Ended Nail Polish
CNP983 Mad Duo
0.30 fl. oz. (9ml)

There are 6 different nail polish duos to choose from but when I saw this color on the L.A. Colors website, I just knew I had to have it.  I am adoring coral colors lately.  But, I will admit that the hue on the website differs greatly from the actual nail polish.  In person it is a lot more vibrant!  It's a bright sunny orange.  Almost neon...cool.

The L.A. Color website states:

TWO DIFFERENT COLORS
MULTI-DIMENSIONAL
WEAR ALONE OR COMBINED

Trend Alert! L.A. COLORS Flash POP! has everything you need to make your nails show stopping. Designed with two different colors in one convenient tube, Flash POP! duos makes your nails appear multi-dimensional with the flip of a stick. Each nail set has a bold nail polish color on the end and a glittery top coat on the other; wear alone or combined to deliver a dazzling look with intense color.

http://lacolors.com/Flash-POP!-Polish-2948.html

The orange coral side is pretty great.  It appears a little on the thin side but two coats is sufficient to get optimum coverage.  And like I said, it is not a muted coral, it is a vibrant orange.  It will look fantastic with a tan (which I naturally sport year round haha) this summer.

The accent side to the nail polish duo consists of hot pink micro glitter and holographic roughly chopped shapes.  The micro glitters stick on to the nail very well but the larger chunks are hard to get on to the nail in the first place.

And here is my final look!  I did two coats of the opaque cream coral polish and two coats of the pink glitter.  Over all, I love this duo!

MY GRADE: A

Now, next on my list to chat about is the L.A. Colors Jellie Gloss.

L.A. Colors Jellie Gloss
CLG976 Bloom
0.20 oz. (5.6g)

OK, it was a little bit harder to choose which of these lip glosses to pick.  There are 24 awesome shades to choose from!  I knew I wanted to try something out of my comfort zone.

The L.A. Colors website states:

NATURAL SHINE
LIGHT SWEET SCENT
SILKY SMOOTH APPLICATION

Jellie, Shimmer, and Sparkle lip gloss leaves lips with a soft natural shine. Sticky free formula with a light sweet scent glistens lips with a burst of color. Discover your favorite shade for every mood!

Bloom swatch.

Bloom lip swatch.

And something out of my comfort zone was what I got!  This is definitely not a color I would have ever picked had I seen it in person.  On the website it appears more red, though.  I'm new to this shade of pink but I actually found it fun to wear!  It's such a Barbie girl color!  Haha.

The website claims that it has a "light sweet scent" and it took me forever and a day to put my finger on it.  The scent was so familiar and it was killing me that I couldn't name what it smelled like.  But I think I've got it.  It smells like bubble gum!  Duh!

As for the feel of it, I like it.  It is moisturizing.  It's creamy and no, it is not sticky at all.  There is no flavor to this lip gloss either.  It wore for about 2 hours before I had to reapply.  I think that is typical for a lip gloss.

Over all, I liked this one too.  And since there are so many other colors to try, I plan on making a purchase for a few others.  I'd love to try: Splash, Venom, Seduce and Sparkling!

MY GRADE: A

And last but not least, here is the L.A. Colors Lip Color.

L.A. Colors Lip Color
LIPC2 Pouty
0.13 oz. (3.6g)

48!  48!  That's how many of these pretty little things there are to chose from!  That's pretty great.  I took forever to chose one lipstick I wanted to try.  I picked this one because I was looking for something a little more neutral since I thought the Jellie Gloss was going to be more red.  I will say that for me, Pouty in person was very close to the Pouty swatch on the website.

The L.A. Colors website states:

HYDRATING COLOR
ENRICHED WITH VITAMIN E
VIBRANT COLORS

Introducing a new line of hydrating color lipsticks that nourish and moisturize lips while giving them the vibrant color. Enriched with Vitamin E, it goes on with ease and leaves lips feeling soft and supple.

Pouty swatch.

Pouty lip swatch.

Right off the bat, I loved the color.  On my wrist, it was the perfect color but on my actual lips, I liked it a tad less.  Despite the color, it's a fantastic lipstick!

Like the lip gloss, the lipstick also has a sweet scent but not bubble gum like.  More like sugar.  The lipstick does not have a flavor either.  It feels decadent on the lips.  Very creamy!  Very moisturizing too.  It is not sticky at all and it wear comfortably.

I can not think of a negative side to this lipstick.  I enjoyed it very much.  While the color wasn't perfect for me, there are 47 other colors I can try!

MY GRADE: A

I think all three of these products are going to be perfect and wonderfully worn for spring and summer.  I am happy with all of these and did enjoy them very much.  I am looking forward to purchasing other shades of all three items!

Are you thinking about picking up any of these L.A. Colors newest products?

Prestige Cosmetics

Hello, my Pretties!

I have had this blog post in the works for such a long time!  I cannot believe it has taken me this long to finally get it up here.  My apologies to Tilson PR for my lack of efficiency and promptness.

Back in the end of September, I got contacted via email by a representative of Tilson PR asking if I'd like to sample some Prestige Cosmetics in turn for a review on my blog.  I am always looking for new opportunities to try new, or new to me, companies and products.  I had heard of Prestige but had never actually tried it.

I agreed to the partnership and this is what I was sent to sample and review:

Thank you so much for the generous samples!

Prestige Skin♥Loving Minerals
Bakedshadow Quad in Gemma

Bakedshadow Quad Mineral Eyeshadow in Gemma
NET WT .07 oz/ 2g
$9.95
Buy HERE

Before I tried the shadows, I fell in love with the name.  Gemma.  So pretty.  I'm going to have another baby and hope it's a girl so I can name her Gemma.  Haha.  OK, maybe not.

I couldn't help but thing the shadows looked like little moons, for the exception of the pink one.  Haha.  I don't own any "baked" shadows so I was excited to add these to my collection.

Fingertip swatch.

Fingertip swatch.

As you can see, the colors are very cool toned which I tend to avoid.  I think warm tones look better on me.  But they colors were pretty.  Very pigmented on the fingertip swatches.

The next photo, below, shows the shadows swatched on my forearm over bare skin.  No base.  No primer. No foundation.  These baked shadows can also be applied wet but I swatched them dry.

As you can see, the shadows loose some of their pigmentation and punch when applied like this.  All except for the pink appear a little bit washed out.

Forearm swatches.

The Prestige Skin♥Loving Minerals Bakedshadow Quad was not as great as I hoped it would be, but they aren't horrible either. I would like to try another quad in a different shade just to see if the reason these aren't my favorite is because of the colors.  They do apply smoothly.  They are not hard to blend out.  But too much blending will remove a lot of the shadow.  But on the plus side, these shadows did not crease on me.

This next item is the Prestige Shadow Duo in Morada.  Now this one, I loved!

My shadow was a little bit broken but no biggie :)

Prestige Eyeshadow Duo in Morada
NET WT .08 oz/ 2.5 g
$4.50
Buy HERE

These shadows look great in the pan and equally as beautiful in the swatches below.  I love the sheen to them.  They sparkle sweetly.  Such a pretty duo.  And purple...I'm partial to purple :)

These shadows are also made to be used wet or day.  And again, these did a terrific job of lasting all day.

Forearm swatches.

I love eyeliner.  Don't you?  I were black eyeliner about 95% of the time so when I received this green eyeliner from Prestige, I was open to it.  Perfect time to try and wear new colors.

Prestige Eyeliner in Marble
NET WT .04 oz/ 1.1 g
$3.95
Buy HERE

Eeep!  I loved this eyeliner.  Loved it!  And there are 21 other shades available!  Wow.

I was so surprised at how easily it glides onto my waterline.  I don't often wear liner on my waterline because I don't have one that is color rich on the slipperiness of my waterline.  But this worked!  Not only did it glide on easily, it lasted for most of the day too!  Major plus!

This liner is very creamy.  There is no tugging whats so ever.  My eyelids are showing signs of wrinkles already so this helps me get an even line all the way across my eyelid.  Now I want one in black!

Swatch.

I not only received eye products, I also got a couple of lip products too!

I got one gloss and one lipstick in a shade so perfect for fall.

Prestige Vinylwear Extreme Lip Gloss in Plum Rush

Prestige Vinylwear Extreme Lip Gloss in Plum Rush
NET WT .20 fl oz/ 6ml
Buy HERE

I searched http://www.prestigecosmetics.com for the price of this lip gloss but was unable to find it.

Applicator.

Forearm swatch.

Such a pretty color.  So pretty!  You can see the gentle golden sparkles in this berry tinted gloss.  I don't wear red on my lips often so I think that berry tones are the next best thing.  And isn't the shine amazing?  It's very glossy.  But it can be sticky if you apply it heavily.  It has a thick feel to it.  Moisturizing, though.

I cannot pin point the scent but it does have one.  It is a pleasant one for me.  Something candy like.  Sweet but fruity too.

As for the flavor, it doesn't really have one.  I don't know how to say this other than it tastes like it smells.  You know?

Lip swatch.

And last but not least, here is my newest lipstick.

Prestige Color Persist Long-Wear Lipstick in Enduring Blush
NET WT .12 oz/ 3.5g
Buy HERE

I also searched the site for the price listing but was unable to find it.

Enduring Blush

The packaging is sleek and classic.  Black tube has a matte finish to it.

The inner core contains pro vitamin B5 and vitamins C and E.

I like the moisturizing core centered inside the lipstick.  It's like it contains it's own lip balm.  Anything that keeps my lips moisturized, I'm all for it.  My lips tend to behave like my skin, they are always dry.

It has a slight scent as well but not the sweet/fruity kind like the lip gloss.  This is more of perfume like scent. I don't notice it while on my lips unless I make a pucker face and try and smell my own lips.  And as for taste, I'll say it again.  It tastes like it smells.

Forearm swatch.

I enjoyed the sheerness of the lipstick.  I think it's the balm like center that keeps the lipstick from applying at full strength and being too bold.  Again, this is a great fall color.

The feel on my lips is creamy.  Moisturizing.  Not sticky at all.  I got a few good hours of wear out of this and noticed a slight tint to my lips when the lipstick wore off.

Lip swatch.

And I think it looks great on my lips.  They look so healthy and moisturized.

Now, let me show you what I did with ALL of these Prestige goodies...

In this next photo, you can see that I used the Prestige Eyeshadow Duo in Morada along my lower lash line. I used the light purple shade on the inner half of my lash line and the darker shade of purple on the outer half of my lower lash line.

In the photo below, you can see that I used the Prestige Bakedshadow Quad from my lid to my brow bone. I used the pink shade on my lid, the light gray in my crease, the dark gray in my outer "V" and the light blue as my brow high light.

I also used the Prestige Eyeliner in Marble on my upper lash line.

As for my lips, I applied a coat of the Prestige Color Persist Long-Wearing Lipstick in Enduring Blush and topped it off with a swipe of the Prestige Vinylwear Extreme Lip Gloss in Plum Rush.

And there you have it!  My favorite of the bunch was the Prestige Color Persist Long-Wearing Lipstick in Enduring Blush and my least favorite was the Prestige Bakedshadow Quad in Gemma.

Over all, my first impression of Prestige Cosmetics is a good one.  I enjoyed the selection of items very much.  I am happy to have been given this opportunity to try these products out.  I am looking forward to making a Prestige purchase soon.

I personally would like to thank Tilson PR for this opportunity.
