FOTD: Galactic Realm

I've been on a roll lately with these FOTDs. I'm surprised myself!

Today's featured eyeshadow is also a new one. I've had this one forever and I just opened it today. This past week or so has been like Christmas. LOL. Opening new (but old goodies I've had for a while) is really fun!

Wet n Wild i-sparkle Eyeshadow

Avon Smooth Minerals Liquid Foundation in Medium Beige
Wet n Wild Natural Wear Mineral Foundation in Medium
Marimekko for Avon All-Over Face Palette in Poppy Bouquet

I used Golden Glow as my blush
and Poppy Bouquet just as a cheek highlight.

I used the black shade in Galactic Realm as a liner
on the upper and lower lash line.
I also added the purple shadow to the lower lash line.

I used the white shadow from lid to brow bone.
The purple shade went in the crease.
The gray shade went above the crease.

I had been really proud of the looks I had done this week. I think I fell short with this one. To me, this one is one of those times that the shadows look better in the pan than they do on the eyes. That's my opinion.

I am not too crazy about this look. It's not bad but it's just not all that good either. The shadows were really soft and smooth. Applied well and blended easily. It's just...I don't know...boring, maybe?

It's just that it looks soooo pretty in the palette. I am a little disappointed, I admit. Oh well, no biggie. I can't remember the exact price. I bought it at Wal-Mart and it wasn't more than $5.00 so...

Even though this wasn't one of my better looks, I still decided to share because of the simple fact that nothing is wonderful all the time. LOL.

Fail??

FOTD: Wildflowers

And here is Sunday's second look of the day.

I had a birthday party to go to on Sunday night at Peter Piper Pizza for a cousin's 7th birthday party. I decided to be fun with my eyeshadow and used a new eyeshadow palette for the first time.

I had seen this 5 pan palette at my local Dollar General months ago and I really wanted it but the only one they had was broken. Heck no. So I'd stalk my DG store often waiting for this palette to return. And it finally did the other day so I had to buy it. I have a small collection of these palettes but this one by far is my most favorite.

Drum roll please...

I am so super duper in love with this palette. For a buck fifty, this is amazing pigmentation and the shadows were very smooth and easy to blend.

I am in love once again...

Oh, and the lip gloss! OMG! African Queen is beautiful! It's a bold, passionate hot pink with a blue/purple duo chrome to it. Ahh, it's gorgeous. Love it!

I was so happy with this look. Seriously. Not to toot my own horn but TOOT TOOT!

Well, that's it. I'm caught up with my FOTDs. I didn't wear makeup on Monday and as for today, I am wearing this look again since I had to recreate it for this post. Let's see what else I have in store.

FOTD: Red and Blue Make Purple

"Red and yellow make orange. Blue and yellow make green. Red and blue make purple. I think you know what I mean." LOL. Barney. My daughter sings this song all the time. I think that's how it goes...

Anyhow, this song was the inspiration for Sunday's FOTD. I decided to use my E.L.F. 100 Palette because I hadn't used it much since I got it.

I did two different eye looks on Sunday. This is the first one. I did this look in the morning to go have breakfast with my family over at our mom's house. I had a party later on in the day and that's why I did my makeup over again.

I first applied the blue shades to my lids then added the red. As I blended in the red, it mixed with the blue to make a purple shade. I added the purple eyeshadow just to define the purple a little bit more.

I like how the final look came out. The colors seemed to blend in very well together. While the red was not an "in your face" red, I still enjoyed the look. Maybe next time I'll try and do a look using a full on red. Interesting...
