Subbie Saturday 5/07/011

While I was thinking about which blog I wanted to showcase in this week's Subbie Saturday, I realized something oh so very important to me.

I have failed to tell you all about one of my favorite blogs. I think what happened was that I had the intention of showing off her blog and then I fell in my rut when I didn't post anymore Subbie Saturdays so I never got to spotlight hers.

Well, now I'm back and I will no longer neglect her blog!

So, my Pretties, meet Amber of Lipgloss and Flipflops!

Miss Amber is a sweetheart. She always comments on my blog posts which I think is so nice to take the time to do so. Thanks, Amber!

Her blog has some really great makeup looks you can try out for yourselves. Also, Amber does hauls, monthly favorites, and reviews. The pictures on her blog are really great quality which help to see the colors better and can help you make the decision if it would be something you would like to buy. Great swatches!  Same goes for her reviews. I find her to be honest. If she likes something, she tells you why. If she doesn't like something, she tells you why but in a subdued manner. She's friendly and professional. She doesn't get all ugly about it :)

Check out some of Amber's blog posts and see what I'm talking about:

Concrete Minerals: Looks
Victorias Secret Limited Edition Baked Mineral Shadow Quad
Yes to Carrots Haul and Experience
FOTD: 3 Pretty Addictions Looks!

Now, let me just apologize to Amber. I'm sorry that it took me so long to showcase your blog. You are very deserving of more subbies and I hope that you do get them. Keep up the great work and continue to put out a fun blog. I love it!

OK, my Pretties, until next Saturday! Enjoy Amber's blog :)

FOTD: Sexy Wealthy Queen

Or maybe I should change the FOTD to YFOTD for YESTERDAY'S face of the day! LOL. Yes, I always post my FOTDs (on the rare occasions that I do them) the day after I wore the look. Oops! It is a face of the day...but I'm not to clear what day...LOL.

Any how, this is the look:

Not very "queenly" in my hoodie.
The lighting was bad. Very cloudy outside.
Looked sooo much better in person.

All eyeshadow.
I didn't use an eyeliner.

I'm happy with my blending here.
I'm getting better :)

Love this lip color!

Face Ingredients:
Avon Solutions A.M. Total Radiance Day Cream
L.A. Colors Liquid Makeup in Creamy Beige
E.L.F. All Over Cover Stick in Honey
L.A. Colors Pressed Powder in Beige
Marimekko for Avon All-Over Face Palette in Poppy Bouquet
mark. Please Hold Eye Primer in Light to Medium
Face Candy Couture #54 Dare (inner corner)
Face Candy Couture #56 Cotton Candy (mid lid)
Face Candy Couture #113 Golden Moon (outer lid)
E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color in Drama
(white as brow high light, black as eye liner)
Avon Perfect Wear Extralasting Lip Gloss in Everlasting Petal
Revlon CustomEyes Mascara in Blackest Black

I did for get to include the E.L.F. Beauty Book Bright Eye Edition.
I used the purple shade as my crease color.
And there you have it, my Pretties. My Sexy Wealthy Queen look.

So, why the name you ask? Because of the colors I chose. To me, red is sexy. Red lips, red heels, a red dress. A woman in red knows she is sexy! When I hear the word "wealth" I automatically think of money. Monetary riches like bars of gold. And one of the oldest color associations known to man is that purple is the color of royalty. So there you go!

And I threw in a little bit of pink. While I am sexy, I am also sweet!

Haul: Dollar Tree Part 2 with Swatches

So because I thought my first Dollar Tree haul from Saturday was a bust, I thought I'd check out another Dollar Tree and see what I could find.

I'm telling you, it was eating me up inside that I didn't find anything that I was all that excited about in my first Dollar Tree trip. Yeah, I'm like that.

I took off to another Dollar Tree with my girls and this is what I bought:

Dollar Tree Haul
Everything was $1.00!
Opened up so you can see the colors better.
I loved all of these colors!

E.L.F. Studio Single Eyeshadow
0.097 oz/2.75g

Butter Cream on left. Light golden yellow with shimmer.
Wild Wheat on right. Very light neutral with shimmer.

E.L.F. Studio Single Eyeshadow

Pebble on right. Light brown, slightly gray without shimmer.

Swatches: Dollar Tree E.L.F & L.A. Color

I posted on Saturday that I had gone to Dollar Tree because my sister said that they had a lot of really cool L.A. Colors eyeshadow palettes. I went and did not see a single one.

But I did buy other beauty products. You can check out that haul HERE.

On Saturday, I posted the haul as soon as I got home so I hadn't even opened the packages yet. I did say I would post the swatches up later that day but, yeah, that didn't happen. And my Sundays tend to be even more busy than my Saturdays.

So, now it's Monday and here are the swatches:

Swatches.
Left to Right:
Liquid Makeup, All Over Color Stick,
Nail Polish in 247B (top) and
209 (bottom)

L.A. Color Pressed Powder in BPP321 Beige.
LOL, I just noticed I cut off the swatch of the pressed powder.
It blended in with my skin that I when I cropped out the picture,
I didn't see it and cut it out the photo.
Oops!
Note: This sponge is so super worthless. Super cheap quality!
E.L.F. All Over Color Stick
Golden Peach

L.A. Colors Liquid Makeup in BLM312 Creamy Beige.
One drop did this to my forearm.
ONE DROP!
Very runny and I thought impossible to blend out...

but it did blend in.
Very nicely too.
I just don't know if I want to blend it in for as long as it took.

N.Y.C. Nail Glossies
Nail Polish in 247B.
Dark teal with blue undertones.
Looks almost black.
Very runny, needs 2 coats.

N.Y.C. Nail Glossies
Nail Polish in 209.
Very pretty sheer peach.
Very runny, needs 2 coats.

So here, you go. Not may favorite shopping trip I went on but oh well.
