30 Days of Beauty: Day 5

Hello, my Pretties!

One more post and I'll be all caught up on the first five days of the 30 day challenge.

Day 5: Day Makeup Look

I wore this look today for work.  Fairly simple.  Perfect daytime makeup look.

I used some Avon and E.L.F. eyeshadows over my Urban Decay Primer Potion.  I filled in my brows with my Avon Perfect Brows Kit and applied two coats of my MAC Zoom Lash Mascara.

As for my face, I tested out my new Avon CC Cream today for the first time.  Over that I dusted on Wet n Wild Coverall Powder Foundation and I used Avon Tint n Go Cheek Tint on my cheeks.

And to help keep the look simple and casual, I just applied a light pink gloss by Avon.

That's all!

30 Days of Beauty: Day 2

Hello, my Pretties!

Here is another round of 30 Days of Beauty!

I change my makeup on a daily but these are the few items that I wear just about every single day no matter what.  I'm sure these will change one day but as for now, this is what is in my daily makeup rotation.

♥ Wet n Wild Coverall Powder Foundation in Medium
♥ Avon Ideal Flawless BB Cream in Light/Medium
♥ Avon Eyeshadow Primer in Warm Beige
♥ L.A. Colors Grafix Eyeliner in Black
♥ M•A•C Zoom Lash Mascara in Zoom Black

I highly recommend any one of these products!

Swatch & Yearn: Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks

Hello, my Pretties!

Today I am bringing you a mini swatch-fest!  Can you believe I have had these photos in my computer since April 22, 2013 and I am now just posting them?  Yeah, if you know me at all, you can believe it... Sigh.

I purchased these Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks at my local Dollar General and I believe I paid $2.00 for each one.  I am not 100% positive since I did purchase these 5 months ago but I'm like 80% sure that I paid $2.00 per lippie.

First up is 900B Pink Suga'.  Of the three Meglast Lipsticks that I purchased that day, this one is by far my least favorite.  I saw it nude in the tube and I wanted it badly.  I had been wanting to try the nude lip trend for a while so when I saw this one, I figured $2.00 was a good price to pay just in case I didn't like it.  I didn't.

It is way too light for my skin tone.  It looks grossly pale on my lips.  No thank you.  I have used Pink Suga' since but I use it as a topper to go over a too dark lipstick to mute it.  It works well for me in that sense.

Next in line is 904B Rose-bud.  Now this is a color that I can, and have gotten, a lot of use out of.  It's a richly pigmented pink.  This one can appear a bit bright on me at times but it's a very wearable shade that I enjoy using a lot.  Winner!

And lastly I have 915B Spiked with Rum.  I love this color!  I am not sure why it photographed so lightly in the tube but the swatch on my lips and inner wrist is true to color.  Even though I bought this back in April, I can see myself using this a lot this fall.  It is a rich wine color.  Again, another winner!

Over all thoughts:

I have been a huge fan of Wet n Wild for years and it is difficult for them to disappoint me.  These lipsticks were no disappointments!

Granted, I wasn't crazy about Pink Suga' but that's just because the color was all wrong for me, in my opinion.

The formula is really good.  It's opaque, it's long lasting.  I thought the lipsticks weren't as creamy as others but they held on to the lips beautifully.  Once applied, the color didn't budge.  Because they are "megalast"ing, I felt them a bit dry on the lips but a swipe of lip balm on top fixes that issue.

And of course, you can't beat the price!  Even though I'm not 100% of the price, I'm pretty sure that I only paid $2.00 for them.  I more than sure now.  Yup.  $2.00!  They are a steal at two bucks!  I need more and that's for sure.

So, what colors do you have?

My Comfort Zone

Hello, my Pretties!

A while back, July to be exact, we took a trip to Corpus Christi.  The sweet-tart had to go for his job obligations, our girls and I tagged along for fun.  What was supposed to be a 3 day trip, turned into a week.  The sweet-tart had to work everyday that we were up there so the girls and I spent a lot of time in the hotel room watching TV, eating, and swimming in the pool.

I didn't take my entire makeup arsenal but I took one tiny little makeup bag filled with my essentials.  My face powder, foundation, and blush.  One black eyeliner and one black mascara.  One sheer coral lip gloss because that just looks good with everything.  And one eyeshadow palette.  Picking out what eyeshadow to take was the worst.  I am an eyeshadow fiend!  But I decided on sporting a neutral look while we were away from home because I can do a neutral eye a lot faster and with a lot less product than my more colorful and dramatic looks.

I decided on my Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette.

And just for fun, I took my Zoya mini nail polish in the shade Myrta.  I LOVE THIS COLOR!

So, this post was supposed to be up in July but I'm a tad late with it being December and all.  Oh well, you all know my by now.  Speaking of late posts, I have others that some how escaped from me and I never posted so I just might work on them and still bring those to life.

Top 10: Lips for Fall

Hello, my Pretties!

First and foremost, HAPPY NOVEMBER!  I adore November!  I honestly do.  Aside from December, it is my favorite month.  I absolutely love fall.  The sights, the smells, tastes, and feel of fall are like none other.  Agree?  I thought you would.

And to start off this fabulously fall month, I have put together a list of my top "fall inspired" lipsticks and lip glosses for you.  Are you ready to fall in love with some new hues?

TOP 10 LIP COLORS FOR FALL 2012

First off I will show you the lip glosses I have chosen.  The first three are Avon.  I have mentioned before that I do sell Avon and that's why I have a lot of it.  And the fourth one by Maybelline technically isn't a lip gloss but cosmetically, it looked better grouped with the glosses ;)  It has a similar look and application to the glosses anyway.

Top to Bottom:
Avon Smooth Minerals Lip Gloss in Rumberry
Avon Smooth Minerals Lip Gloss in Bronze
Avon Smooth Minerals Lip Gloss in Berry Glaze**
(** Not sure if that is the correct name. **)
Maybelline Stay 24 Color in On and On Orchid

Swatches.

Rumberry

Bronze

Berry Glaze

On and On Orchid

As for my second group here, I put these together because these three are all Avon products.  They are all Avon lipsticks but from different lines.

Left to Right:
Avon Smooth Minerals Lipstick in Rumberry
Avon Colordisiac Lipstick in Temptress
Avon Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in Iced Cocoa

Swatches.

Rumberry

Temptress

Iced Cocoa

And last but not least, these are my other three "non Avon" lipsticks.  Haha :)

Left to Right:
Neutrogena Lipstick in Rum Raisin
L.A. Colors Lipstick in Mauve Glaze
Wet n Wild Lipstick in 541B

Swatches.

Rum Raisin

Mauve Glaze

541B

I think I did a fairly good job at representing fall with these lip colors.  I hear berry shades will be popular this year and of course, now is the time of year for bringing out those bronze and copper toned lip shades.  Browns and neutrals tend to work well for this season.

Not sure I will ever do 10 lip swatches in a day ever again, my lips were raw afterwards!  But it was fun and worth it to me.  Beauty is pain!

P.S.
I'm also planning on a Top 10: Nails for Fall!!

♥♥ All products mentioned in this blog post were purchased with my own money for the exception of the Maybelline 24 Color in On and On Orchid and the Neutrogena Lipstick in Rum Raisin which were gifts from family members. ♥♥

Pink Wednesday: December 14, 2011

Hello, my Pretties!

I have a very short and quick post for you tonight.  It's Wednesday!

Wet n Wild Wild Shine Nail Color

#461 Lady Luck

My sister gave me this nail polish when she cleaned out her stash a couple of days ago.  She gave me a whole bunch of beauty goodies and you can check out that post HERE.

Say hello to my little friend :)

As you can see, this really is a nice pink.  It's a hot pink!  There are tiny purple micro shimmers integrated into the polish.  You can see them in the photos but they are there.

The application was wonderful.  I don't know how old this polish is but it applied smoothly and evenly.  The formula was not thick at all.  Drying time was quick.  One coat was pretty opaque but two was perfect.

I need to get some more pink polishes for these Pink Wednesday posts because all my pink polishes are starting to look alike!

Luv & Luk,
--L.
