EOTD: Punk Funk

Hello, my Pretties!

Finally I have an EOTD to share with you.  Yay!

I've had this E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color eyeshadow quad for such a long time but never used it.  It was still in the wrapper until today.

This is such a fun quad!  It is the brightest of the other eye brightening quads and it totally reminds me of the 80s.  Totally!

I think I applied the shadows with a light hand but I like the outcome.  This is a really nice quad.  And for only a dollar, it's pretty awesome!

Do you own this quad?  Do you own any of the E.L.F. Brightening Eye Color eyeshadow quads?

Avon: Total Glamour Holiday Collection

Hello, my Pretties!

Finally, I have this wonderful little gift set from Avon to share with you.  I got his a few weeks ago and posted a picture of it on Instagram and many of you wanted to see a blog post on it.  So, it took me forever and a day to do it but here it is.

Avon Total Glamour Holiday Collection

Boxed and ready to give, this entire limited edition 4-piece collection gift set is valued at $35.00 but was being sold for $19.99.  So I grabbed it...for myself.

Avon says:
"This kit includes the following shades: sequins and shine eyeshadow quad, glimmering bronze lip gloss and sequined turquoise nail enamel.  Get your holiday glam on with gorgeous shades for eyes, lips and nails.  The stylish evening clutch completes the look."

Iridescent Holiday Clutch
Polyester; 11" L x 5" H x 2" D
$20 value.

Ah!  Such a cute little bag.  All of the items fit neatly into it with room for more!

Up close photo of the outside.

Look at the rainbow of colors that shine in the light!

Turquoise inner lining.

Turquoise, my favorite color.  Beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside.

Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad
Holiday Edition

Lately, I have not been a huge fan of Avon's eyeshadow quads but I saw this one in the brochure and I just had to have it.

Quad compact.

Love the new look to their quads.  I like the detail of the chrome like swirls on it.  Much better than the solid black they used to be.

.20 oz. total net wt.

I melted when I opened this up.  So gorgeous!

Sequins and Shine

So glad I got it!  I love it!

Swatches with flash without base or primer.

I used it...
Swatches without flash without base or primer.

I was pretty disappointed.  Not as great as I was hoping they were going to be but right along the lines of what I thought they were going to be like.  If that makes any sense.  Like I said, I haven't been their biggest eyeshadow quad fan but I was hoping this quad would change my mind.

The white is not even noticeable on my hand.  The white, silver, and brown were very smooth and soft.  The white was too soft though.  I'd flick my brush in the pan and eyeshadow dust went flying everywhere.  Not good for me.  The turquoise was my main reason for getting this set.  It was very gritty.  Kind of chunky.  You can see the difference in the texture.

Glazewear Lip Gloss in Glimmering Bronze
.15 oz. net wt.

I was not a fan of this when I pulled it out of the bag.  I love the Glazewear line though.

Swatch with flash.
Sheer bronze gloss with blue reflects.

Oh, but my mind was quickly changed when I swatched it.  So pretty.  It matches the brown shadow beautifully.  It is a bronze gloss with tiny little blue reflects.  Such a unique color!

Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel
.4 fl. oz.

This nail polish speaks for itself!

Sequined Turquoise

Turquoise with silver reflects.  Now this is a beauty.

One coat.

Two coats.

One coat was definitely too sheer.  Two coats was just right.

EOTD using Sequins and Shine.

Even with an eyeshadow primer and NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Milk, I was disappointed with the pigmentation.  I took a lot of packing on the eyeshadow to get this look.  I will say that it does look better in person.  I can't take decent photos.  I tend to wash it all out.  Too much flash, I suppose.

Gray on lid. Turquoise in crease. Brown outer V.
White as a brow highlight.

All in all, if I were to rate this, I would give this 3 out of 5 stars.  The shadows are lovely in the pan and I just wish they would translate their beauty onto the eye much better.

Glimmering Bronze.

Here is another failed photo of mine.  In natural light you can see the pretty blue reflects in the gloss.  They shy away due to the flash.

First Holiday Inspired EOTD.

And since this is a limited edition holiday collection, I decided to make this my first official holiday inspired look.  It could be festive with all the shimmer!

I hope you enjoyed this.  This was a spur of the moment kind of thing.  I had some free time tonight and decided to play with my new makeup.  I wasn't planning on using this look but I thought it looked nice.  Too bad it's night time and I can't takes pictures without the flash so that's why some photos just don't look so good.  I saw an opportunity for a blog post and I took it!

Until next time...

EOTD: Haute Model

A few days ago, on the 19th, I tried my NYX Eye Shadows 10 Color Palette in Haute Model for the first time. The colors are so sparkly!

Here is a quick look I did using this palette.

I didn't take full face pics because my hair was a mess and I looked extra fat in the face that day!

TMI?? LOL, OK, here are a couple of pictures of this amazing palette in action.
Peek a boo! I see you!

I used the light pink on my lid.
(Top row, 3rd pan.)
I used the aqua shade in my crease and lower lash line.
(Bottom row, last pan.)
I used the steel gray in my crease as well, above the aqua.
(Bottom row, 4th pan.)

I've only used 3 eye shadows out of 10 so I have a lot more experimenting to do. How fun!

Anyway, I just wanted to share this look with you. It's nothing special but I'm happy with the colors and the pigmentation. I am also delighted with the application. It was very smooth and no fall out. Good stuff.

Take care, my Pretties.

Swatches: E.L.F. 100 Eyeshadow Palette

Since I got so many different things in my last E.L.F. haul, I thought that it would be better to divide my purchases into categories to make the whole process of viewing swatches a little more organized.

First, I showcased the E.L.F. Lipsticks which you can see HERE.

Second thing I want to show you is the item I was most excited to get. The 100 Eyeshadow Palette. 100 eyeshadows!!

So many different colors to choose from. They all looked so lovely. I didn't have any specific shadows to swatch. I just picked the ones that grabbed my attention first.

E.L.F. 100 Eyeshadow Palette
Net wt. 3.7 oz/110g
$10.00

Look at all these pretty colors!
I chose these 8 to swatch because I thought they were the prettiest.

Swatches with flash.

Swatches without flash.
6 & 8 are amazing! Loving that teal and red shades. But oh my, that 4 really disappointed. I love purple shadows and that one could barely be seen on my forearm. Swatches were done on my bare forearm, no primer, no foundation, and no concealer.

I did this look today using the 100 palette. I used one of the off white shades as a brow highlight. On my lid, I applied a light purple shade and topped it off with a slightly pinker purple shade. In my crease, I used a shimmery silver and the glittery black in my outer "v". You can see that I lined my lower lash line with the vibrant blue shade. I am wearing the E.L.F. Eyelid Primer in this look.

Over all, I did like the colors that I have swatched so far. Some are not as pigmented as others. Really disappointing but they are useable. There are still so many other eyeshadows in this palette that I have yet to even try out. I'm loving it. For the $10.00 I paid for it, it's a steal!

So finally, I had a look to show you, Pretties. I know it's been a while since I've posted any look at all. I should be posting more looks in the future since I am on a buying ban. Let me just finish sharing with you the latest stuff I have gotten. I started my no buy a couple of weeks ago but I still have a couple of things I'm waiting for in the mail.

Until next time!

EOTD WITH URBAN DECAY LOOSE PIGMENTS

I know I've been promising swatches for the Urban Decay Loose Pigments I got on sale at HauteLook.com and I never got around to it. So sorry. Really, I am. Hopefully tomorrow.

So to hold you off until then, I decided to do and Eye Of The Day. This was the first time I ever used the UD Loose Pigments and I have to admit, I fell in love. They are wonderful!

I decided on an EOTD just because my face makeup is the same as usual. Same foundation, same blush and mascara and eyeliner I've used in past FOTDs. Nothing special there. Hmm, I need to change it up a bit, I suppose. Since this was the first time using these pigments, I wanted all focus on my eyes and these amazing shades.

Okie dokie, take a look at my peepers!

Looks nice, right?

Just used Avon Color Trend Eyeliner in Midnight Blue
on upper lash line and water line.

Used Dior Diorshow Mascara in Black
on both top and bottom lashes.

Shattered on lid, Shag in crease, and
Goddess in the crease as well just to deepen it up.

The lineup.

Shattered, Shag, and Goddess.

With flash.
No base or primer on my hand.

Without flash.
No base or primer on my hand.

So what do you think? I adore Shattered. Such a pretty metallic turquoise. Shag is gorgeous. Such a shimmery light gold/bronze color. So, so pretty. And Goddess, oh my goodness! That one is intense. The sparkles are adorable. There is blue and gold and purple sparkles scattered around in this purple/black pigment. Amazing!

Alright my Pretties, that's all I have for now. I promise to get the rest of the swatches up here for you ASAP. Pinkie promise!

I hope you enjoy this one!
