2/2/11 FOTD: FRIGID

Finally, today we joined the rest of America weather wise. We woke up to freezing temperatures with a wind chill in the teens. According to the local news, we haven't seen weather this cold since 1989. I was 8 years old then. Wowzers!

But I'm not going to complain for a couple of reasons. I am a winter baby, born in December, so I like the cold. I get cold easily but I love this kind of weather. I don't know why. I guess it's just the idea of staying in and all warm and cozy watching a movie and drinking hot chocolate. But it is horrid when it's time to go outside. And I will not complain because the other people up north are really seeing some horrible, frigid, dangerous weather. My heart goes out to all of you out there braving this crazy winter. I pray you all stay warm and safe and sane with all these snow days!

So, today, I dedicate my FOTD to winter and the wacky weather it has violently thrown at us.

I chose to use my E.L.F. Beauty Book in the Eye Brights Edition and used a color palette that reminded me of COLD. I chose a sparkly silver and a cool blue. And most "winter" looks consist of these two colors so I threw in some purple to change it up and a shimmery lilac, like frozen grapes! Haha :)

Just because it's winter and freezing, doesn't mean we have to look drab. OK, I admit, I look drab all week until I decide to do an FOTD. Ha!

Now I present to you, my ode to winter, Frigid.

Today's face ingredients.
  • Avon Smooth Minerals Liquid Foundation with SPF 15 in Medium Beige
  • Avon Personal Match Smooth Mineral Makeup Powder in Bisque (P5P item)
  • E.L.F. Eye Lid Primer in Sheer
  • E.L.F. Beauty Book in the Eye Brights Edition
  • Avon Big Color Eye Pencil in Vanilla (as my highlight)
  • Avon Glimmersticks Waterproof Eye Liner in Blackest Black
  • Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Mascara in Ja-va-voom!
  • CVS Chap Block Lip Balm
  • Avon Perfect Wear Extra Lasting Lip Gloss in Perpetual Pink (P5P item)

SIDE NOTE:
**P5P item means it is one of the items I must finish in my Project 5 Pan I started yesterday.**

  1. Glittery silver: 1st half of eye lid (1st column, 3rd shade)
  2. Frosted lilac: 2nd half of eye lid (3rd column, 1st shade)
  3. Dark purple: crease color (2nd column, 3rd shade)
  4. Glittery black: crease color to deepen purple shade (4th column, 3rd shade)
  5. Golden turquoise: lower lash line (3rd column, 2nd shade)

A good view of all the eye shadows used.

This look would also look nice without the black crease color.

Up close.

The glittery silver had a lot of fall out.

Simple slightly pink lips.

Alright. So that's that. I believe I used more eye shadows in this look than I have with all my recent FOTDs. It is still a very simple, uncomplicated look. Just felt like doing something fun due to the weather.

I do hope you lovelies with enjoy this one. Please, be careful out there if you are one of the ones hit hard with this dangerous winter weather. Much love to you all.

Luv & Luk,
--L.
