E.L.F. Disney Villains: Malificent

Hello, my Pretties!

I had been doing fairly well and not buying makeup so much these last few months.  I was trying to ween myself of my makeup crutch.  I have too much makeup (if that is even possible).  I kept telling myself that I was set with makeup for a long while.  I didn't need anymore.  OK, obviously, I don't NEED any makeup so rather I had to make myself believe I didn't WANT any makeup.

Oh, but all of that changed when I saw that E.L.F. was teaming up with Walgreen's to bring us their take on the Disney Villains.  All the walls around me came crumbling down like an eyeshadow palette hitting my ceramic tile floor.

I rambled on and on about them to my sweet-tart.  I told him how awesome it would be to have them.  How I just needed them in my collection.  How I just had to have all three beauty books.  I just had to!

So, in true sweet-tart fashion, he went behind my back scouring all our local Walgreen's for days until he finally found them.  He rarely disappoints.

He handed me a bag from Walgreen's when I got home from work nearly two weeks ago.  I saw the bag and I knew what was inside.  I just knew it because I know him.  He told me how he'd call everyday from work and he'd ask for the E.L.F. Disney Villains beauty books and they would always tell him, "So, you want the toy department?"  Haha.  He said he got tired of explaining to them that it was makeup.  He's a funny one.  Well, all the time he spent going to Walgreen's after Walgreen's during his lunch break really paid off because he made me so happy.  So flippin happy!!

So, now that I had all three beauty books in my hand, I had to try them out.  What if they were duds??

Well, I'm going to pace myself and give each beauty book the attention they deserve and bring you one villain at a time.

Without further adieu, I present to you...

Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.

Sinister Smoky Eyes

Includes a step-by-step guide for perfectly villainous makeup
for both day and night.

8 Eyeshadow Colors
2 Lip & Cheek Color Pencils

"This Limited Edition Disney villainous makeup book is a collectible item that is sure to reflect your gorgeously evil inner diva.  The all-in-one book includes the must have makeup essentials to create your favorite Disney villain for both day and night so you can be both beautifully and wonderfully wicked for any occasion."

Opens up just like a fairy tale book.

Left hand of palette.

When you open the book, on your left you will find the mirror.  I did not remove the protective film on the mirror prior to photographing it hence the foggy appearance.

Up at the top right hand corner it says OPEN.

And when you turn the page, this is what you see...

Day Evil with step by step instructions.

Night Villain with step by step instructions.

Maleficent's face is captured on a clear plastic sheet so you just flip the page to see the day/night version.  I love it!  I love the artwork.  It is simply gorgeous!  I love the idea of the plastic page insert.  The instructions are clear and concise and easy to follow.

Right hand of palette.

I was happy to be getting a pair of false lashes.  I don't wear falsies because I don't know how to apply them but I've been dying to learn and these will be fun to try.  I've heard that the lash glue isn't so great but I've never tried it so I can't attest to that.

Aren't the shadows in this collection amazing?  I think so!  I am loving the colors and the pigmentation really is fabulous!  I was totally surprised by the lip and cheek color pencils.  I have two E.L.F. lip pencils and they are hard and dry and difficult to apply.  These are the complete opposite.  I love them.  They are so creamy and apply easily without any tugging on my lips.  I was curious to see how they would double as a lip and cheek color but it works!  I tried it out already and I will post my Maleficent Day Evil look soon.

I hope you enjoyed this post and the swatches.  I can't believe that I have had these for two weeks now and I am just posting them now.  Stay tuned for Cruella and the Evil Queen coming up in a day or so.

These E.L.F. Limited Edition Disney Villainous Villains Makeup Books are only available for purchase at select Walgreen's stores and retail for $9.99.
