Hello, my Pretties!
Yay! It's time for part 2 (of 3) of my E.L.F. Limited Edition Disney Villainous Villains Makeup Books series. Yesterday I showed off Maleficent which is a wonderful palette. It is filled with shadows to give you "smoky eyes". You can see that blog post HERE.
As a reminder, these LE Disney Villains Makeup Books are only available at select Walgreen's and retail for $9.99.

After swatching all the eyeshadows and the lip pencils, I was so pleased. These shadows are pretty great. I have not used neutral shadows in a long time. Ever since I discovered bright shadows hues, I have tucked my neutrals in a drawer and take them out only on occasion. But I can honestly see myself using these shadows often. They are really pretty and perfect for everyday use.
And then something happened that popped my little bubble of happiness.
This...
Defective eyeliner brush. |
No way! I died a little inside to see the brush of my liquid eyeliner bent out of control. This is unusable. So disappointing. I was not happy about this. I am such a perfectionist, especially when it comes to my makeup, to the point that this was heartbreaking. Can we say #beautybloggerproblems??
As soon as I pulled out the brush from the tube, the liquid eyeliner splattered all over my hand. Booo....
But I did manage to use the bent side of the eyeliner brush to swatch a quick line for you.

If it wasn't for the dysfunctional eyeliner, this would have been another A+ palette for me. I love the shadow shades and the Lip & Cheek Color pencils are just as creamy and pigmented as the ones in the Maleficent palette. The eyeliner would have been good. The pigmentation is awesome. I will probably just use the eyeliner brush that comes in the Evil Queen palette (since it is a black liner as well) when I finish that tube of liner. I don't want to let this liner go to waste.
After posting a pic on Instagram, I got advised to either:
♥ Tell E.L.F. about the problematic eyeliner and that I might be able to get it replaced.
♥ Just use one of my own eyeliner brushes which I would have to purchase since the ones I have don't fit.
♥ Take it back to my local Walgreen's and get it exchanged.
Either way, this is a fantastic palette. Which do you prefer? Maleficent or Cruella?
Next up, Evil Queen.
♥♥ Items in this post were given to me as a gift by my sweet-tart which he purchased with his own money. These are my own thoughts and honest opinions. ♥♥
Nice quotes :)
