LFI: I ♥ My Crazy Friends

Hello, my Pretties!

I have about 15 minutes before the sweet-tart gets home from work so lets see if I can crank out this post before he walks in. Not that he doesn't want me to blog, it's more like he wants all attention on him when he comes home. LOL. Typical man.

Well, this is going to be another Look For Inspiration post. I actually got the inspiration for this look from a t-shirt I bought at a garage sale for .50 cents last year!

And this is the shirt!

I should have taken the pic of the shirt BEFORE I put it on. So sorry, you guys, this is sooo not a boob shot!

And here is the look that I created using the 3 colors of the shirt: pink, white, and yellow.

White in the inner corner, yellow on the lid,
and pink in the crease.

I liked the over all look, I just wish I had darkened up
the eyeliner so much more.

Over all, it's a very simple look. Not much to it at all. It's just a fun, bright yet soft look that I think is easy enough for anyone to pull off. Are you going to try this eye look?

Very light and creamy pink lips.

I wanted the eyes to grab more of the attention than the lips so that is why I chose this lighter shade of pink. It's one of those like-my-natural-lips-but-better shades.

I do wish I had taken more pics for you but the lighting was not cooperating. I took a ton of pics but these were the best ones. Sad, I know.

OK, sweeties, that's all for today. If you ever try out any of my LFI looks, leave me a link below to your blog post so that I can check it out!

LFI: Chaotic

Hello, my Pretties!

I haven't done a Look For Inspiration in a long time so I decided to do one today!

For those of you, beauties, who are new to my blog, an LFI post is one in which I just show you a look. Don't mention what I used at all. This way, you just take it for what it is and work it for yourself in your own way.

Brands don't ever have to be exact to what was used in the picture. You use what you got! Make it your own.

LFI: Chaotic
I chose to name this look Chaotic because I think it is! LOL.

The colors that I used are so all over the place. I used a bold teal, a deep dark black, a bright white with purple iridescence, and a rich copper.

I could have actually named it Seasons too. LOL. I associate the teal with summer, the black with winter, the white/purple with spring, and copper with fall. Oooh, now the creative juices are flowing!

Finish touch. Shiny pink lips.
I'm not sure if the pink lips were a good add on to this look. Hmm, I'm on the fence with this one. What do you think? Honestly, I used this lip color because it is my all time favorite as of right now :)

Full face shot.

I do hope that you all try this look out. It's a bit all over the place but sometimes that just gives the look more character. I do like it. The colors really don't go together at all but somehow, it all worked out in the end.

Your thoughts?

Empties: August 2011

Hello, my Pretties!

I'm such a copy cat. I got the idea to do this new blog series from Gaby of Gaby's Beauty Blog and you can see her August Empties post HERE.

I know I'm a little late for this post since we are already in September but I decided what the heck, I'll do it anyway. (I'm already working on September's empties post!) I had finished these products last month but I've been so neglectful of my blog lately that this post just kept getting postponed.

Looks like a book but it's a little box.
I just had this little box sitting in my room with no function whatsoever so I decided to put it to work. I originally started saving my empties just to see myself actually finish a product. I usually don't, I have so much.

I keep my empty containers in here.
This was such a motivator for me! Seeing all these empty containers really made me want to finish even more stuff. I tried a Project 5 Pan a while back and failed miserably. This is like the same thing to me. I'm trying to finish all the products that I have already opened up before I start buying more.

Here are all my empties for August.
The Beauty Rush lotion didn't fit in the little box.
All of these products were used up 100%. I pinky swear! I should have cut open the tube of lotion like Gaby does so that you can see :)

Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush
Pool Party Lemonita Body Drink Lotion
200 mL/ 6.7 fl. oz.
This stuff is good! It's very thick, very moisturizing. The best part was that it smelled just like lemonade. It did! Just like lemons and sugar. Yum. I checked online and it is no longer available on the Victoria's Secret website. I'm sure it was a seasonal item for summer.

Avon Magix Tinted Face Perfector
M205 Medium
0.3 oz.
This stuff was really good too. It was a cream to powder like compact. The finish of the texture of my skin was so soft after applying this. Very smooth, like silk. The coverage was minimal. I don't need a lot of coverage for my face so that was OK for me. It worked well at minimizing my pores on my cheeks. Got to love that! This item was no longer on the Avon website. Booooo...

CVS Pharmacy Chap•Block Lip Balm
Lip Moisturizer
Skin Protectant/Sunscreen
Net. wt. 0.15 oz./ 4.3 g
I recently did my first favorites post, which you can see HERE, and I featured this product. I really like it. It works well for me. No taste, no color, no shine just a basic moisturizing lip balm. It's sells for $1.29 at your local CVS.

Revlon CustomEyes Mascara
001 Blackest Black
0.19 fl. oz./ 5.6 mL
This mascara worked so well for me. I have been loving mascara lately. If I can wear only one makeup item, it would be mascara. Before I would have said lipstick, no more! I love playing up my lashes because they can make my eyes appear bigger. This one worked well for me. It has two levels: one for length and drama and one for length and definition. At the twist of the top, you can choose what you need. I used the length and definition side more. When you twist the top, you can see the bristles on the wand change. You can buy this at Wal-Mart or drugstores but I cannot remember the price.

Mary Kay Oil-Free
Eye Makeup Remover
1 fl. oz./ 29 mL
This makeup remover was just a trial size that I got in a makeup bag a long while back. But let me tell you, this stuff is really good! It's oil free but it feels like oil. All eye makeup, even waterproof, is not match for this. It works great. CAUTION: DO NOT GET THIS IN YOUR EYES, IT STINGS! I would repurchase this. It is $15.00 for the full size version of 3.75 fl. oz. on the Mary Kay website.

Cover Girl Perfect Point Plus Eye Pencil
200 Black Onyx
This is also from the drugstore and I also cannot remember the price on this but I did love it! It is a deep black self sharpening eye pencil that glided on perfectly. No tugging! That is major for me because I do have wrinkly eyelids so this definitely helped me get a smooth line the first time.

Avon Smooth Mineral Blush
M01 Golden Glow
2.5 g net. wt./ .09 oz.

Oh my goodness! Do you all know how long it takes to finish a mineral product? Sheesh, these things last forever!! This was one of my P5P items, the only one I finished. This was my go to blush. I wore this everyday! I loved it so much. Really. I was sad to see it empty but it was such an accomplishment for me at the same time.
As of September 10th, this item was still available on the Avon website for $5.99. You save 40% off the regular $10.00 price tag.

So that's it for now, my dears. Did you all like seeing this kind of post? Let me know so I know whether or not to do one for September!

Nail Art: Pretty Petals

Hello, my Pretties!

Yesterday I shared with you my Pink Wednesday post, which you can see HERE, and today I decided to add a little oomph to the pretty pink polish.

Here is attempt number two at nail art! My first was an embarrassing attempt but I still shared that with all of you. If you missed it, you can laugh at it HERE.

Wet n Wild Wild Shine
Nail Color in Frosted Fuchsia
I actually polished my nails in the car. Yup, that's the steering wheel in the background! And no, I wasn't driving at the time. I was parked outside my daughter's elementary school waiting for school to let out.

Here are the materials used.
4 Shades of nail polish, an orange stick,
and a sheet of paper.
The orange stick was used to create the design. You could also use a toothpick, a pen, or even a pencil. You know, if you don't have a dotting tool. I don't. The sheet of paper was so that I could pour out a little nail polish onto it and dip my orange stick into it. It just makes things easier. For me, anyway.

Nail polishes used.
Here is a closer look at the nail polishes I used.

Wet n Wild Wild Shine Nail Color in Frosted Fuchsia
L.A. Girl Matte Nail Color in Baby Pink
Wet n Wild Megalast Nail Color in (insert name here) The label rubbed off...
Ulta Nail Lacquer in Limelight

Aww...
Here is the finished look! I only did this on my thumb nail on my left hand. For obvious reasons...I am a righty and there is more work space on my thumb nail! Remember guys, I'm new at this nail art stuff.

I first polished the entire nail with Frosted Fuchsia. Next, I put a "round" spot of yellow to be the center of my flower. After that, I dotted Baby Pink dots all around the yellow center. And lastly, I used Limelight to draw on a stem and a tiny little leaf. The end.

I know it's not much, but for me, it's pretty cool. I will keep practicing and trying out new things. Who knows, maybe the next nail art post will be even better. Let's hope so!

Pink Wednesday: September 14, 2011

Hello, my Pretties!

Wow, how long has it been since I did a Pink Wednesday post? Since July...??? It's been so long that I didn't even know if you lovelies even did these posts anymore since I haven't seen many. But I did see one today so I decided to do one too.

My naked nails with just one coat
of clear nail polish on top.

I actually took the time this morning to work on my nails. They were very long but all different shapes and lengths due to breakage. I cut them all down to about the same length and squared them off. I do not like having oval shaped nails. Uh uh.

Wet n Wild Wild Shine
Nail Color in Frosted Fuchsia
I tweeted this afternoon that I was going to take some nail polish with me so that I could do my nails while sitting in the car waiting for my daughter to get out of school. And I did!

Up close of the beautiful shade.

OMG, I love this color. Like really, really love it! Seriously, I mean, don't YOU just love it? It's so pretty and pink and it has a duo chrome to it that you can see in different angles in the light. It's like hot pink that transitions into a purple shade.

With flash.

It was really hard to polish my nails while sitting behind the wheel. I didn't have a flat surface to rest my hand on. But I honestly think that the mani came out alright.

Without flash.

Here you can see that without the flash, the purple undertone was not really seen. In the photo using the flash, the polish appears much more vibrant!

I've had this nail polish in my stash for a few months now and I just used it for the first time today. Such a shame I hadn't used it before. But for sure this polish is going in my favorites category.

Did you wear pink today?

Sephora Sample Bag

Hello, my Pretties!

Last week my dear older sister gave me a little gift. So sweet of her. She's my fellow beauty buddy even though she is no where near as obsessed with makeup as I am. I'm the only one this crazy in my family. She is really supportive of my passion and when she can, she will give me some goodies.

Our JCPenny's was having a grand opening for the Sephora they now have inside. Something like that... Anyway, she grabbed one of these for herself and one for me!

Small Sephora makeup bag.
This bag is cute. Very simple. It's glossy, it's black, it has SEPHORA in big white letters on it. It is long and small. It is a good size to carry in your purse with just a few beauty staples.

5 samples inside!
I really like samples! (FREE SAMPLES!) I have a huge makeup bag in my stash where I keep all the samples I have accumulated over time. LOL. I think samples really help you to decided whether you like something or not. But then again, sometimes they are enough for one use so you can't make a decision off of that. I'm just saying! Samples are fun either way.

Little business card inside.
FREE to-go samples of anything in the store! How awesome is that? I didn't know about this. Very cool.

Ole Henriksen
Ultimate Lift Eye Gel for all Skin Types
Net Wt. 0.10 oz/ 3g

I have not tried any of these samples yet. I do intend on trying them out soon. Especially the Boscia Restorative Eye Treatment for Under-Eye Bags because I've started to see those creeping up on me. Not good.

I love my little gift!

Big thanks to my big sister!!

A Bath & Body Works Gift for Me

Hello, my Pretties!

Not this last Friday, but the Friday before, my sweet-tart's aunt gave me a little gift. It was out of no where! It's not my birthday, anniversary, Mother's Day, Christmas...it was a just because gift. Those are the best!

Here is what she gave me...

I love it already!
And as soon as I saw the bag, I was in love. Bath & Body Works is one of my all time favorite stores. Love walking in there and sniffing everything. The store itself smells so good with all the variety of scents mixing together.

My 'just because' surprise gift.
Also inside my goodie bag were two coupons. Yay for coupons! One is for a free gift with any home fragrance purchase and the other is for 20% off your entire purchase plus FREE shipping with any $25 purchase online. Sounds good to me!

Liplicious Fruit Punch Lip Gloss
.47 fl. oz./ 14mL
I've never tried these Liplicious Lip Glosses before. The Fruit Punch one I received is very, very sweet! It has a true fruity flavor to it. If you don't like flavored lip products, I highly recommend you pass. This has a very potent flavor that even if you remove the gloss, the flavor remains on your lips. The color is really pretty though. It's a hot pink with shimmer that shows up as a sheer, shimmery pink on your lips. Very glossy but can be a bit sticky. It also feels a tad thick.

Black and purple flower key chain...
And this key chain is so adorable! It's very cute and I love that you carry your Liplicious on it. I'm not sure if it will work with other lip glosses or not. I haven't tried that yet but I don't see why not as long as the size is right.

...and lip gloss holder!
I don't use the key chain to carry my lip gloss, though. My daughter always takes the lip gloss off and she eats it. Yup. Smells and tastes like candy!

Japanese Cherry Blossom
Triple Moisture Body Cream
8 oz./ 286 g
Without even knowing, she picked the Japanese Cherry Blossom scent which my sweet-tart loves. He likes to buy the Japanese Cherry Blossom hand sanitizers and carries them in his pocket for work. The lotion is so thick and rich. It definitely leaves the skin feeling so super soft and the fragrance is strong and lingers for a long time.

Well, my dears, I just wanted to share this small little haul-like post with you. You all know that I haven't been buying any makeup or beauty items anymore so gifts are the only way I get new stuff!

Thanks to Tia Yolanda!! Much love goes out to her!
