Review: Born Pretty Part 2

Here comes the fun part! The swatches!!

I ordered Shimmer 12 Colors Eye Shadow Eyeshade Makeup Cosmetics Item ID: 316. You can view the webpage HERE.

This is what I ordered.
OMG, look at these colors! I was super thrilled when I saw the glitter orange (2nd column, 3rd one down), the glitter green (1st column, 4th color down), and the teal (2nd column, 4th color down). So pretty and bright!
This is what I got.
I was pretty disappointed to see that the eyeshadows were not the same ones that I saw in the picture on the website. And to top it off, I didn't like that the gold eyeshadow had spilled. Tsk, tsk. I'm anal when it comes to having my makeup clean. Especially if it is brand new.
The colors are not the same as described
on the Born Pretty website.
I also did not like that the eyeshadows did not have names. I love it when my products have names. These did not even have numbers to identify them by. OK, well a couple of them did have a sticker that said 13 or 36 on the bottom but most of them did not have anything at all.
Gold, Light Pink, Light Brown.

I did not swatch the pink glitter because it would not stay. You need to apply some thing so that it can stick to. I once used a Leishi glitter given to me by Cathy (of My Pinktastic Life) and I used Duo Lash Glue to stick the glitter on to my eyelids. It's the same kind of glitter in the same little jar that says Leishi on it. You can see the look I did using the glitter on Duo Lash Glue HERE.
Lavender, Pink, Mint Green.
(My description of the shadows.)

White, Lime Green Glitter, Purple Glitter.

As you can see, all the shadows are shimmery. I love shimmery shadows.

You can also see that the second group of shadows did not swatch so well. They appear a little light and washed out. I will say that I did have high hopes for the mint green color but was a bit disappointed when I applied it to my forearm.

These shadows are very soft. They feel like talcum powder. Very smooth and velvety. The glitters are very coarse, a little rough since they are big, chunky glitters. I say be careful, you don't want to get this glitter in your eyes.

I did like the majority of the colors. My favorites being the gold, light brown, teal, lavender, and white. I did like the feel of them. I love how easily they blend. But they are so, so messy! Ugh. Tons of fall out. Beware. But you must know by now that fall out is a must with any kind of loose shadow.
Here is a look I did with these shadows.

Light brown on the lid. Teal in the crease.
Gold in the inner half of the lash line.
Teal on the outer half of the lash line.

The shadows are very shimmery and
blend well.
My biggest disappointment with these shadows is that I did not get the colors that were in the picture which I thought I would be getting. But other than that, I do like these very much.

I must say that these remind me very much of the only other eyeshadows I have that are similar to this--Face Candy Couture. You can see those swatches HERE. I honestly think that the Face Candy Couture shadows are a little bit better and more pigmented than these.

I used the light brown wet just to see how it would look and it was amazing! It had an amazing foil like appearance to it. I should have swatched these wet as well because I know that the colors will be so much more intense.

For the price of $5.59, these are a steal. Very good product. I will say that I would like to try some more for sure.

Luv & Luk,
--L.
