Finger Painting: Note to Self

Since I am on a self imposed "buying ban", I have to find other ideas to blog about aside from hauling. I'm sure going to miss those hauls...

Anyway, I was never one to polish my nails on a regular basis but I did buy nail polish once in while just because I liked a color. I usually use the nail polish only once. But now I'm trying to have my nails done more often.

While I do have a Konad Nail Stamping Kit, I don't use it. I don't do cool designs on my nails freehand either. Baby steps...

So, we'll just start off with solid colored nails for now. OK? OK!

First nail polish I want to show you from my own personal collection is Note to Self by Sephora by O•P•I.

This nail polish was actually gifted to me by my older sister. She purchased this nail polish for herself but never got around to using it. One day while cleaning out her makeup and polish stash, she found this polish in there and decided to give it to me since she had never used it. She cleans out her stash fairly often and gives me beauty goodies she doesn't want any more. I happily give them a home. She's my favorite sister! LOL.

But once she saw this nail polish on me, she said she wanted it back. She didn't think it was going to look this good on!

Note to Self is a very pretty orange. It reminds me of orange soda or an orange creamsicle! Yum...

The nail polish at first application is very sheer. I am wearing two coats in the photos. But I am happy to report that I thought the drying time between applications was really fast. I loved that. I did them right before bed and I didn't have to wait forever for them to dry before I could crawl in bed.

I love how vibrant the orange is. Perfect for summer! And it has shimmer to it. You should see it in the sunlight! While the finish is not as glossy as I like, I am totally happy with this nail polish. I think this is one nail polish that I will use more than once.

I think I'll let my sister borrow it.

Don't forget (I hope I don't forget) that I'll be back on Wednesday for Pink Wednesday! I'm going to shop my stash and see what pretty pink I can find for you.

Luv & Luk,
--L.

♥♥ Products mentioned in this post were a gifted to me by my sister. ♥♥

  1. Great post, girl! That color sure is lovely :) It can brighten up any mood! It's funny about your sister. I do the same thing as well. Every so often I clean out my makeup stuff, and the things I don't use or whatever, I'll give them to my sisters too lol My sister often asks me, "Huda, is there any makeup you don't want?" lol

  5. @Huda Kaake, thank you! I love this color too. I'm really starting to get into orange this season. I love it when my sister gives me stuff because she takes really good care of her things so they are always in great shape. Sometimes not even used. I'm not picky. I take it all. LOL. But I do use it! I'd like to be your sister, you have good stuff :) LOL. You're a good sister to part with your makeup because I can't seem to do that :) I'm so bad!

@frugaslspender19, I don't think I ever had an orange nail polish. Oh wait, I did. It was a Wet n Wild one. I think Sunny Side...something like that. Not my fave. Maybe that's why I forgot about it. LOL. Yeah it was funny that she wanted it back. She thought it would look weird on our skin tone but I think it looks good! Yeah, no take backs!

@♥neelai♥, LOL, yes orange juice! I said orange soda and orange popsicle but forgot orange juice! Good one :)

@nails by kate vergara, I'm new to orange. It was never my favorite color but I'm really starting to get into it. I like this one...but I haven't tried a lot of orange polishes. Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving me a comment. I appreciate that so much. I will definitely check out your blog. I'm going right now. Thank you!
