Swatches: E.L.F. Lipsticks

Since I got so many different things in my last E.L.F. haul, I thought that it would be better to divide my purchases into categories to make the whole process of viewing swatches a little more organized.

First, I will showcase the E.L.F. Lipsticks.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

FANTASY:  Beige. Creamy. Lip balm feel to it. Very neutral color.
SEDUCTIVE: Light coral shade. Much more toned down than in the tube. Scary in the tube but really pretty once applied. Lip balm feel to it.
GYPSY: Pretty pink. Much more toned down than in the tube also. Very dry upon application. Almost like a lip stain.
CHARMING: My favorite in the tube. Not so much once applied. Very light. Neutral but more pink than Fantasy. Lip balm feel to it as well.

This was my first time trying these lipsticks. I honestly didn't know they existed. I think they are new! I'm not upset with the colors I got, it's just that the colors that you see on the website are not true to what you get in person. And you also need to apply heavily because they are very sheer. Maybe these swatches will help you decided which ones you want to get if you want to get any.

Do you want to buy any??

  2. I have all of them but Gypsy .. I melted them down into a palette and just mix them with other shades to make my perfect lipstick color heh.

I do have them in the tubes still as well they are nice for this time of year when you don't want a thick gloss on your lips a sheer wash of color is nice too :)

  3. My favorite i have found from the $1 line is called "Classy". Classy is a nice pinkish mauve that goes well with just about any eye look. Classy is also said to be a great dupe fro MAC's Angel lipstick!!!

  6. I am always amazed at how much the flash can change the look of a product, but love them all!!!

  9. @Miss Tapia, Seductive scared me when I saw it in the tube! LOL, it looked too bold for me. I really was disappointed. But once I applied it, it became my favorite one of the bunch. Very pretty.

@Mrs.Makeup, what a great idea to melt them down like that! How creative :) Yes! A wash of color is what I would say this is. And I'm really liking the "wash of color" look right now. It is perfect for these hot days.

@Kassandra, I'll have to check out that color. I must've seen it when I was shopping for these but I can't remember what it looks like. But I like your description of it. Expect for the MAC part--I don't own or know any of the MAC lipsticks! LOL, I'm so lost, I know :)

@LJ, you're the second person to recommend Classy to me. I'm going to log on to ELF right now and see what I've been missing! And thanks for adding me to your blog links. That is very sweet of you. Much appreciated.

@Amber, Seductive is very nice! Gypsy is pretty too but I don't know why mine was so dry. I don't know if that's the way it's supposed to be or I got a bad one. Hmm, I don't know. I wore it today but had to layer on some lip balm just so it wouldn't feel so tight and dry. But for a buck, I say try it out. Maybe mine was just bad :)

@Pretty J, I do try to always include a flash and no flash pic because the colors do tend to look different. But of course, they always look better in person!

@Miranda, thank you! Charming, I thought was going to be the love of my lipstick life! I saw it on the site and I had to have it. It's different to me when I see it in the tube vs. on my lips. I've only worn it for the pics so I need to wear it more often to find out if it is the perfect one for me :)

@Cathy, you're the third person now to recommend Classy to me. Now I HAVE to get it! LOL. And you can never go wrong for a $1!! I do plan on getting some of the other colors just because these were a good experience for me :)

  11. @Vintage Makeup, yes, Gypsy is really nice. I swear everyone but me has Classy. I really need that lippie now!

  12. I have only one of these, seductive. I found mine to have a nice pigmentation. I also really love the way it smells!!! I don't think I'll get any other colors though. I have way too many lippies! I need to use what I've got! Although, I love their Luscious Liquid Lipsticks! My favorite is in Bark. Have you tried those?

  13. @Nicole, this is my first time trying these. I liked them. I'm actually trying to build my lippie collection. I have more eyeshadows than anything. I do have a couple of the Luscious Liquid Lipsticks but not Bark. I'll look into getting it though :)
