Swatches: Dark Heart Designs: A-C

Hello, my Pretties!

Recently I was picked to join the Dark Heart Designs Swatch Program.  What is the Swatch Program?  It is a program that Dark Heart Designs owner, Tina, created to get different women of different age groups and different skin tones to swatch her products.  You know how it is, different colors look different on our individual skin.

So, how it works is that she sends us the samples and we swatch them for her.  Those swatches will then be added to her online store.

I decided to take advantage of this opportunity and share her products with you.

I love getting packages in the mail!

Everything included in my package.

♥ Cosmetics Care Guide
♥ Thank you note handwritten and personalized just for me from Tina :)
♥ Baggie with samples

My little treasure chest.

Also included were 2 business cards and a coupon!

First 5 shadow samples to swatch. A-C.

Absinthe

Anna

Beautiful Nightmare

Bone Daddy

Carnival Queen

My favorite eye shadows were the Anna and the Bone Daddy shades.  So pretty!

Non eye shadow samples.

I just noticed I didn't take a single shot of the Dark Magic Eyelixer on its own.  It is a clear serum like liquid that you can mix with your eye shadows to foil them and apply them wet.  Totally intensifies the shadows!

Barrel Lip Slick

At first I thought this was an eye liner.  It's so purple!  Haha.  I was intimidated by the swatch on my forearm but when I applied it to my lips, I actually liked it!  I applied it lightly but it can be intensified just by applying some more.

Love Bites Lip Stick

This lip stick sample, on the other hand, was the other way around.  I liked the pink shade in the pot and loved it on my forearm but once applied to my lips, I felt like Snookie!  Me no like Snookie.

It is way too light for my complexion but that's the beauty of the Swatch Program.  Someone with my skin tone might want to pass this lip stick up.  But someone who is fair skinned can pull this off beautifully.

Bloody Mary Eye Light Gel Liner

I must say I love the name of this eye liner.  So creative!  I've never worn red eye liner before but this is going to be fun trying to work it into a wearable look.

I just wanted to say thank you to Tina for allowing me to be a part of the Swatch Program.  I had lots of fun swatching these products.  I hope to be able to bring you another set post soon.

Anastasia Beverly Hills: She Wears it Well

Hello, my Pretties!

I had the great fortune of testing out another awesome product by Anastasia Beverly Hills.  This is their new fall 2012 palette.  She Wears it Well!

Each She Wears It Well palette includes:
  • Deluxe mirrored compact with professional dual brush that features 9 shadows for day and evening looks
  • Illumin8 formula featuring Youthful Synergy Complex® is clinically proven to illuminate, firm, and hydrate the skin
  • Long-wearing Crease-Free Can be worn wet and dry
♥♥ Above statement taken from my Anastasia Beverly Hills She Wears it Well information email. ♥♥

She Wears it Well is all about the "Hollywood glamour and modern moxie".  This palette was inspired by the makeup that was used to sculpt and beautify the women of the 1930's.  She Wears it Well is full on glamorous!

This fantastic palette is available for purchase at Anastasia.net and Sephora.

I love how this was packaged.

Anastasia Beverly Hills
She Wears it Well Eye Shadow Palette

Sweet, wonderful packaging.  Now let's open this baby up!

Outside of palette.

Faux reptilian like pattern.

Palette includes 9 eye shadows, a dual ended brush,
mirror, and magnetic closure.

And now for the swatches!  All swatches were applied directly to my forearm using my fingertip on bare skin.  No foundation, base, or primer.

These eye shadows stay true to the Anastasia brand.  They are so rich and luxurious.  They are nicely pigmented and apply like butter, so smooth.

Swatches. L-R:
Trophy, Glow, Latte, and Foxy.

Swatch.
Sunset.

Swatches. L-R:
Frosting, Onyx, Almond, and Toffee.

Also included with my package was this set of She Wears it Well Face Chart Cards which I was so excited to see but so sad to say that they are not available for purchase.  These were an extra added bonus for the selected bloggers who received this palette for review.

Included were:
1 title card
5 face chart cards
1 information card

These are the individual Face Chart Cards:

Onyx

Almond

Frosting

Foxy

Sunset

Behind each beautiful woman is the face chart with instructions on how to get the look.

Featured Face Chart Card is Onyx.

I absolutely love this palette.  It does remind me of the only other "all neutral" eye shadow palette that I have.  Let's all say it together now URBAN DECAY NAKED PALETTE.

The shades are similar but the texture of these are wonderful.  I love how soft they are.  They apply beautifully.  I did one of the looks the other day.  I was in a hurry and the look took me about 5 minutes to do.  I chose the Foxy Face Chart Card.

Foxy only consisted of using Sunset wet and dry and Foxy wet as an eyeliner.  So easy!  I love that these shadows can be applied wet and dry.  Love multitasking makeup!

Here are my Foxy eyes:

And there you go.  Another great product from Anastasia Beverly Hills.  Will you be wearing it well this fall?

Nail Polish Collection: Zoe & Zac

Hello, my Pretties!

A while back on Twitter, I sort of made an announcement that I had plans to share my entire nail polish collection with you one brand at a time.  I have not counted my nail polishes recently but last time I believe I had 101.  I think I have added some since.

Here is the first brand I am going to share with you.  My sister purchased these at Payless for me.  I am not positive but I think maybe this brand was only carried by Payless.

I now present you with nail polishes 1-3 by Zoe & Zac.

Zoe & Zac Naturals
0.33 fl. oz/10 ml

Pretty Pearl

Violet Flower

Cardinal

These nail polishes came in a 3 pack and were not sold individually.  The trio was $10.  I think that is a pretty good deal for some pretty good nail polishes.

The only one of the 3 that was not opaque was Pretty Pearl but I can see that it would be a great polish for a French manicure!

If I check on the Payless website, I don't see these being offered anymore.  I don't know if that is an online only thing or if they are not sold in stores either.  I did get these a long while back.  Nevertheless, they are still part of my nail polish collection and I think they are worth mentioning.

My favorite Zoe & Zac polish is Violet Flower.  Which one is yours?
