PHYSICIANS FORMULA HAUL PART 3

And last but not least, is my second cream liner trio. I have to say again, I am in love with these cream liners. I love how you get 3 shades and they are all stacked together. But I'll save the rest for a possible review in the near future. Let's just move on to pictures and some swatches, OK? OK!

Here is...

I haven't used any of my Physicians Formula items on my face yet but I am excited to. My first impressions of these products is that they are awesome! I am loving them already just by doing the swatches. Once I use all the products, I plan on doing a full review on them. But so far, so good. I'm happy!

Thanks for sticking it out with me in my 3 part haul-a-thon. I hope you enjoyed these posts!

PHYSICIANS FORMULA HAUL PART 2

In this haul, I bought items for blue eyes, green eyes, and hazel eyes. None of which I have. I have brown eyes! But, of course, you don't have to wear these according to your eye color. I suppose they are made to "enhance" your eye color. But if you have brown eyes and wear "green eyes" eye shadow, nothing is going to happen. I'm sure you can rock any color!

So, here we go on with part two!

Up next...

PHYSICIANS FORMULA SHIMMER STRIPS CUSTOM EYE ENHANCING GEL CREAM LINER in BLUE EYES.

Enhance and define blue eyes.

Metallic bright blue shade.

Metallic medium brown shade.

Shimmery black shade.

OMG, these claim to last 24 hours and I do believe they freekin' do! I applied the swatches and once they dried, I could not rub them off for the life of me. Unbelievable! So excited about these.

Moving on...

PHYSICIANS FORMULA HAUL PART 1

About a week or so ago, I had to go grocery shopping, which I don't really enjoy doing. But oh well, it has to be done. But on this trip to my local H-E-B, I got something special! Made the trip worth it!

I found some Physicians Formula items on clearance. They were just tossed into a shopping cart with a whole bunch of other random clearance items. I was so thrilled when I saw what was up for grabs. I got two Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liners for Blue Eyes and Hazel Eyes. I also nabbed up the Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner in Pop Green Eyes. I was super excited!

One had a big bright orange sticker that said $4.00. The others didn't have prices. So I assumed they were about the same price. For sure the two gel cream liners but I wasn't positive about the shadows. Well, my sweetheart tells me to bring them all and we could ask for the price at the register. If I could only get one, I really wanted the eye shadows.

So the guy is ringing us up and he doesn't know the prices on these items because they are ringing up at regular price. He looks at the box, sees the sticker and gives it to me for $4.00, all of them for $4.00. Woo hoo! I know that CVS had them cheaper at 75% off but I went and they were out. I'd rather pay $4.00 than regular price so I still think I lucked out! And my sweetheart, being the sweetie that he is, told me to take all 3 of them. I love him so much!

I decided to make this a 3 part blog post. I hope you don't mind.

First up...

PHYSICIANS FORMULA SHIMMER STRIPS CUSTOM EYE ENHANCING SHADOW & LINER in POP GREEN EYES with 3 POP TRIOS.

Pretty, huh. I am going to have to do some FOTDs following the guide for a natural, playful, and dramatic look. Stay tuned for that!

Ready for the next post? Blue eyes coming up!

SUBBIE SATURDAY: 1/29/2011

Hello, My Pretties, let's try something new...

As you all know, I am new to the blogging world. My need to blog didn't just come out of nowhere. I started reading and subscribing to a ton of makeup and beauty blogs and I was hooked. I was inspired more than anything. I thought, "Hey, I can do that. I love writing and, oh, my God, do I love makeup. Now, I can do both!"

And I made it my New Year's resolution this year to start up a blog. No more being scared and afraid of what kind of comments I was going to get. I figured, if this was something that I wanted, I had to do it--afraid or not. And following these blogs and reading and seeing what these other beauties were able to do, totally encouraged me to go for something I wanted.

So, my new series is going to be SUBBIE SATURDAY. This new series is made to showcase one blog that I personally follow. A blog that I feel is worthy of more subscribers. A blog that I have learned from and over all enjoy reading.

And for the 1st Saturday, I have chosen...

KRISTEN

Subscribe to Kristen's blog at

So, I think you all should do yourselves a favor and subscribe to this lovely lady. I don't regret subbing!

LOOK FOR INSPIRATION: PURPLE & GREEN

I had a lunch date with my BFF on Wednesday and I did a bright eye look. I got a lot of compliments with this color combo every time I wear it. Personally, this is one of my faves!

I was wondering of doing a new kind of blog post, which I think I'm going to call "Look for Inspiration" because that's what it will be. It will be a look that I did and I will post just the pics. No "face ingredients", no brands, no nothing. Just the look, plain and simple.

What do you think?

What's the point?? Well, you will be able to see the pics like pics of an FOTD post but without all the extra info which should make it a lot faster to view, in general. But this way, you just get a look and you can make up your own using the same color scheme just with your own twist on it. I would love to see the looks that you Pretties can do with the pictures I provide. In turn, you will inspire me with your looks for inspiration!

I still plan on doing FOTDs and maybe save these Looks for Inspiration (LFIs?? Yes? No?) when I don't have enough time to do a full FOTD. I'd love to hear some feed back!

Sorry to say that my first LFI was called Barney by my sister. You'll see why!

I'm looking forward to hearing what you ladies think of this LFI venture. Please leave me some comments on what you think. Thanks in advance!

ZOYA FREE NAIL POLISHES: HAUL

So, in the beginning of January, Zoya was doing a promotion on their Facebook which gave you 3 FREE nail polishes of your choosing and all you paid was the shipping which was $6.95.  I believe the promo code was FB2011.

I've never done anything like this. But 3 FREE NAIL POLISHES! I couldn't pass that up. I jumped at the chance. On their website, Zoya nail polishes retail for $7.00 each. So, I was getting 3 nail polishes for less than the price of 1. Amazing!!

I logged onto Zoya.com and started browsing. Wow! They have so many colors to choose from. It was crazy hard to pick just 3.

After about an hour of picking and choosing and then changing my mind, I did pick my 3 winners. I chose Alegra (from the Sparkle collection), Reece (from the Reverie collection) and Kelly (from the Wonderful collection).

I placed my order on January 4, 2011. I got shipping confirmation on January 17, 2011. My order arrived January 21, 2011. But I was so disappointed. Only 2 of the 3 polishes arrived. I got Alegra and Reece but Kelly is on back order. The invoice said it would be shipped out to me as soon as it was available.

But as soon as I saw the two polishes that did arrive, OMG. I was so happy. They are so beautiful. They are both pink but such different shades and finishes. But I love them both equally!

My package is here! Finally!! I waited 17 days for this.

Very well wrapped up and taped.

Included for free with my order.

Samples of their Intimate collection.
Marley, Dove, Caitlin, Dannii, Jules, and Gemma

Alegra
My sweetheart liked this one more...

Reece
But I think I'm partial to this one.
I wore Alegra on my left hand and Reece on my right. I think that's my new look. One nail polish shade on one hand, a different shade on the other hand. I started doing this for blogging purposes. I'm getting used to my finger nails not matching!

Do you like my chosen ones? I'm so happy with them. Now, I just can't wait to see the missing Kelly. But I have a feeling I won't be disappointed.

M.I.A. UPDATE

Hello, My Pretties!

I'm so sorry I've been missing in action lately. For those of you who follow me on Twitter, you might have seen my tweet where I said that I lost all my pictures I had stored in my flash drive. ALL THE PICTURES were destroyed. I had taken pictures for up coming blog posts so that I could easily write and then publish. And it's all gone! Booooo....

So, yes, I have to start brand new. My sweetheart is still working on recovering the pics but I don't think it's going to happen. Oh well. Too bad, so sad. It still stings though because taking decent pics is hard work. I don't usually have a lot of time to work on my blog and so one day when my baby was napping, I took advantage and did a huge "photo shoot" for all the posts planned for the next couple of weeks. I cropped them, watermarked them and none of that matters now. Once again, booooo....

Well, sorry about that little hiccup in my blog. But here's a taste of what I'm working on right now. I have 3 hauls to share with you. Two Avon hauls and one CVS haul. I hope to have them up real soon.

PREVIEW OF WHAT'S TO COME:

Avon Haul #1

Avon Haul #2

CVS Haul
I really do hope to post up one haul in the next day or two. So stay tuned!

1/22/11 L'OREAL HIP DUO SERIES: DUO #4 FLASHY

OK, we are half way into the L'Oreal HIP Duo Series. Today is 318 Flashy.

Flashy is so pretty. The bright cream color is subtle but buildable. It is mostly matte with the slightest hint of shimmer. As you can see in photo, the turquoise shade has a lot more visible shimmer. The turquoise color is bold, baby, bold! So pretty. Very little goes a very long way. I love it.

I took these pics on the 20th, so this is my FOTD for 1/20/11 using 318 Flashy:

318 Flashy

Today's face ingredients.
  • Avon Smooth Minerals Liquid Foundation SPF 12 (Medium Beige)
  • Avon Personal Match Smooth Mineral Makeup Powder (Bisque)
  • Lorac Blush (Soul)
  • mark. Please Hold Eye Primer (Light to Medium)
  • L'Oreal HIP Concentrated Shadow Duo (318 Flashy)
  • E.L.F. Liquid Eye Liner (Black)
  • Dior Diorshow Mascara (Black)
  • Benefit Luster Duster Shimmering Loose Powder for Eyes & Face (Nugget)
  • Carol's Daughter Candy Paint (Grown and Sexy)

I  used the light shade all over the eye,
from lid to brow bone and the turquoise
in the crease and lower lash line.

Just for added sparkle,
I added Benefit Luster Duster around my tear ducts.

Carol's Daughter Candy Paint
Grown and Sexy
After testing 4 HIP duos, I do have to say that this is one of my favorite ones. I love the colors, pigmentation, texture, and staying power. I can't wait to try this one with the turquoise on my lids! I bet it will look so nice.

Thanks for stopping by, my Pretties!

1/22/11 FOTD: TEASE

Yay! I'm so excited I have a bright look for you today. The foundation for today's look is the L.A. Colors 5 Color Metallic Eye Shadow palette in Tease. I got this 5 pan palette from my local Dollar General for $1.50. Not bad on the price but I wasn't sure how pigmented these would be. But for less than $2.00 for 5 colors,($0.30 an eye shadow), I had to try.

I was pleasantly surprised. The colors are pigmented. Well, 3 out of 5. The yellow and orange, not so much. But the pink, blue, and green totally make up for it.

Well, you be the judge.

Today's face ingredients.
  •  Avon Smooth Minerals Liquid Foundation SPF 12 (Medium Beige)
  • Wet n Wild Natural Wear Mineral Foundation (Medium)
  • Lorac Blush (Soul)
  • L.A. Colors 5 Color Eye Shadow (Tease)
  • E.L.F. Liquid Eye Liner (Black)
  • Dior Diorshow Mascara (Black)
  • Avon Smooth Minerals Lip Gloss (Plum Craze)

Here is a better look at the blue which
I used on the lower lash line.

And here is the green which
blends into pink.

Green in the inner corner, pink in the outer corner.
Orange in the crease, blue along the lower lash line.

Pretty transition from the green to the pink.

Avon Smooth Minerals Lip Gloss
Plum Craze
It's cute, right? I like this look.

SIDE NOTE: I did use all 5 colors in this look. I used the green in the inner corner, pink in the outer corner, blue on the lower lash line, orange in the crease, and the yellow as a brow high light. Like I said, the yellow and the orange aren't super pigmented so they worked well being subtle and letting the other colors pop.

Thanks for peeking, my Pretties!
